Why don't the teachers take one of their many teachers' days off, put on some old clothes and CLEAN the mould! Then there would be a real reason to have a teachers' appreciation day! Yes, I KNOW it's not in their job description!
Why these schools do not keep maintenance personnel on staff full time is beyond me.
This nonsense of consecutive tag team governments thinking it is fine and dandy for the business community to pick up all surplus tabs is NOT fine and dandy and has to cease once and for all. Deciding what type of government system we are living under would be a step in the right direction. With the on-going lack of accountability on the part of the Cabinet Ministers and their Civil Servants, it is totally wrong to expect the business community to continue to pick up the slack for what-ever lame-brained or otherwise schemes the government of the day decide to dump on The People.
"Mr Turnquest then admitted that the Government’s $95m deficit overrun for the 2017-2018 fiscal year, which resulted in $410m worth of “red ink”, should have been picked up by the Ministry of Finance." If this was HIS money, I guarandamntee this would not have happened, it's ONLY The People's money!.
Bahamians are not generally a cold and callous people but they do need to think of their own survival. This situation has been allowed to become outrageously out of control by the politicians of our Country, of Haiti and by unrighteous international interference.
No former FNM or PLP need apply unless their DNA has been altered! Also please scan all potential candidates for level of corruptibility. If this party wants to make any kind of an impression on the People this time, a major bucking up is needed, NOW! The Country is in desperate need of a fresh ruling party, or at least a viable opposition.
"We have to ensure that when we spend people’s monies that we’re spending it wisely and that every dollar counts. This is what this government is seeking to do.” This statement seems a tiny bit inaccurate as we have a Prime Minister who is very fond of travelling and sending 'his people' travelling unnecessarily around the Bahamas and around the World at The Public's expense. He has obviously forgotten whose time it was supposed to be as this is just one sick example of urgent items that cannot be tended to because of the unabated extravagances..
