The PMH HAS insufficient hospital beds, medicine and medical equipment for the The People of The Bahamas, the roads are full of put-holes and half of the government buildings are full of mold (LOL) but this blatantly corrupt excuse for a government can go joy riding off to Bermuda. They just happened to get catch. By the way, The FNM should remove the mote from their own eyes....,.,.
The whole government is a joke. Its members just sit together in HOA and dream up new ways to further ruin The Bahamas and The People, while getting fatter and fatter themselves, literally as well as figuratively. Big bunch of useless sickos.
The 'shanty-town' and illegal immigration situation is deplorable an ever-increasing, unabated. Successive governments simply pay lip service to the problem, not wanting to offend potential voters who have, legally, or illegally through corrupt Government MP.'s and Civil Servants gained Bahamian status and access to our amenities and services. These shamelessly corrupt officials and civil servants of applicable agencies continue to make a fortune dispensing paperwork for under the table fees, high ones at that. Until this problem is solved the status quo will remain.
You are obviously not a grocer. As the regressive Value Added Tax puts a huge burden on consumers and vendors, Price Control leads to shortages, also putting a burden on both vendors and consumers. Both controls should be abolished. A simple fixed 25% across the board import duty would work perfectly if not stolen by Government and its Civil Servants (and therein lies the rub).
Well, these are career politicians who only care about their own income and whatever they can filtch from the "consolidated fund". They are certainly not economists or rocket scientists. Further suspect that whoever does give them financial advice cares not a whit about Joe Public or the business community.
