There has definitely got to be a better way than this FNM-PLP ping pong game which is accomplishing nothing but disaster for our Bahamas. Can anyone put forward a model as to how a House full of Independent elected candidates would govern The Country? Who would lead? Some form of non-partisan democracy in which proposals are put to the people for a vote, could such a thing possibly work in reality? The only thing we know for sure is that our current system is not working in any way, shape or form.
I happen to know of a 47 year old man, of Haitian descent, with a Bahamian passport, born in The Bahamas, displaced by Hurricane Dorian, working for a volunteer group aiding other such displaced persons, and sleeping in his car, who, just today, in answer to his enquiry about the purchasing of a piece of low cost crown land, to have something he could call his own, with a current job, and references, was told by the Department of Housing, that there is no crown land available in Abaco. As Comrade is so fond of saying, you just can't make these things up!

I don't think Barbados is doing quite as well as you think, Mr. Inigo. Further, the very mention of the idea of a republic is shockingly chilling and, if ever seriously even contemplated, would trigger a mass exodus of the increasingly fine thread that is holding this Country together and some how, so far, preventing it from falling into a state of complete anarchy.

Shake head once, Comrade. Suspect at least half of those uniformed civil servants fall in the E level of education, the C level of corrupt and the L level of lazy. These days, in our ruined Country, one's life is at risk simply by going to work. So sad and terrible about the killing you of the store operator.
