Its never a good idea for the government to have their hands in anything. Whatever they touch they poison with political considerations. BEC a monopoly can't turn a profit for the same reason.
We are talking about individuals who are most likely guilty been caught with the gun that killed someone. They will be tried in the same system whether for gun possession or murder. The suggestion will help both the accuse and the judiciary by testing the state case against the accuse. If you can't get a gun possession to stick then most likely you will not get a murder charge to stick. It's very important to think before you write so as to prevent a monologue lacking reasonable clarity. The US justice system saw the logic of what was suggested so I assume you view them as silly also.
Well written and fair analysis. It's obvious that the above commentators are totally blinded by their distaste for Dr. Minnis. Anything written is intepreted through the fog of a clouded mind comparable to a drunkard.
Do what the USA does. Charge the person with a lesser crime which goes through the legal system very quickly and then go for the big one later. In our case, charge them with gun possession which most likely will result in them receiving a sentence of about seven years. The attorney general now has seven years to pursue murder charges. Bail becomes a mute point.
It's obvious someone don't want you in Freeport. The last time we had an outage equivalent to Nassau two hour plus outages were after the Hurricanes that hit Freeport. Eighty percent of the residence in Freeport are connected to the Utility Company. Reason 3. The traffic lights work 99 percent of the time. Reason 4. The streets of Freeport are always clean. It is not a perfect town but anytime I drive through Eight Mile Rock I am reminded why I don't want the government to take over. The minute you cross the sign announcing the end of the bonded area, the roads immediately goes bad. Visit Freeport and you will feel the same way I do.
