maybe just give them a traffic citation next time? 3 strikes lose the license, drive without a license get a $5,000 fine or 6 months jail time. But our lawmakers aren't that intelligent in the Bahamas. D- strikes again.

the oced cartel is broken. The saudis don't care they want to continue their lifestyle and will pump till the cows come home. Russia doesn't play well with others anyway and is in the sand box with Venzuela. meanwhile the US and canada are like 'hey guys we need to stop pumping so we can artificially drive up the price to make it profitable'. Oil price is very unlikely to rise above a profitable margin for a while unless the USA organizes a few choice coups and assassinations to cut production overseas.

I'm all for environmental protection, however the idea that the personal private property of the individual is invalid is a dangerous notion to push. The Environmental minded people may want to reflect on the impacts to their personal private property? What if my government came to your house and said you cannot live there anymore - it is the home of a special pigeon. no compensation just go find somewhere else to live. and no you cannot sell it to someone else because we said so. If the environmental groups are able to willing to pony up and buy these valuable real estate assets to set aside as public park land for everyone to enjoy, then i hazard that maybe they should stay quiet. careful what you wish for. Estevez makes a very good point that there are human beings that have trouble putting food on the table and cannot afford to send their child off to expense learning outside the country (yes Lighthouse Point and Deep Creek are included in this statement). put up or shut up as they say.

why are the court proceedings bared from the public? Does this not affect the public purse? is the Bahamas Government not a government of and for the people? As the shareholders in the Bahamas the bahamian public have every right to know exactly what transpired behind closed doors. Who and How Much Is getting paid off here? This country will never move forward if we never get past this still BS. If its a govt contract and its not nefarious then why hide it? Who is covering their ass? someone in Govt or the private company trying to make a few bucks off the Bahamas govt. invariably whenever it is attempted to be kept from public view it is assumed to be evil.

living on a family island and have been postponing a trip to get my daughter eye test and glasses for almost a year... Ivory towers, ivory towers while everyone else suffers.

1st. the ferry is running regularly between MH and the cays. Roundtrip fare is less than $30.
2nd. Hope Town, MOW, GGC have less than 200 residents. Exuma and Long Island got 3,000 residents and they get 1 maybe 2 testing locations. San sal has 1,000 residents, they get 1 nurse and 1 testing location.
3rd. there should be 2 or 3 Ministry of Health salaried nurse or medical professional with the means to travel around the populations to administer tests, not have the people travel to one spot. this is just good basic common sense to cut down on the potential infection rate.

but hey, what do I know. Obviously implementing a travel restriction and quarantine between the cays and Marsh Harbour is obviously the proper decision. It is exactly the right protocol. its like saying you have to quaratine between east end and down town nassau where people have to travel daily for work and food purchasing. simply assinine decisions like this is why the populace has lost faith in the ability of the CA to provide sound rational decisions. Minnis should step down and allow someone else to take over. I think he is exhausted and unable to process sound decisions. If the captain chooses to ignore the iceberg it kills everyone on the ship.

this article reminds me of "shut mouth catch no fly". If, as has been stated in the recent past, the Bahamas follows protocols and recommendations from WHO and PAHO they why, pray tell, do we need conduct a validity study here in the Bahamas of the Antigen test on asymptomatic people? Is this new study of antigen test validity on asymptomatic carriers new ground breaking research? Is this Ministry of Health of the Bahamas implying that any research already conducted is invalid? or are they saying that this research has never been conducted before? It all seems a bit disingenuous. at the very least, with the country's purse upside down, is this wise use of funds?
