come again? anyone who said this, wrote this or read this ever bought real estate in the Bahamas? Can someone explain to me how real estate could be a way to launder money in this country? Foreigners buying real estate here must go through checks at Central Bank, FIB, interpol, then the buyers bank, the buyers lawyers bank, the sellers lawyers bank, the sellers bank. and then pay 5% for the privilege. and now the real estate broker has to get KYC on them too.

Seriously, how do these so called Regulators not know this? who appointed them to the job? it doesn't seem like they have a clue what they are doing. Its not like you show up with a briefcase of cash and say "I'll buy that house for $500,000". !!!! Good Grief. A slow death by 100,000 cuts is how we go down. all funds to the Bahamas go through Chase Manhattan its not like they can't check up on this stuff already. Or is it just that Central BAnk isn't doing its job?

Let me tell a little story all about how my life got twisted upside down.
BEC transformer next to the house decided to go messing rown
it gave the house only 95 volts
and the appliances did a jolt
everything got burned up
the BEC crew they come jump
they fix the transformer and said go get refund
went for the refund and got dumbed.

I kid you not the head technician flat out said the problem was theirs, a report would be made and i should be entitled to having all the appliances replaced. the house was only 2 years old so you know i still had receipts, and the appliances were new. Went to the BEC office and they said it would be submitted for review. 6 years later not a peep. followed up and got the run around. Blatant disregard. Thankfully i found all the internal parts on the internet and had them replaced instead of the whole appliance but the TVs, cable boxes, stereo, DVD, coffee maker, were unrepairable and had to be replaced. good job BPL, good job.

Should i interpret "Private STakeholder Groups" to mean that a select 1 or 2 persons are going to get the sole and exclusive right to the new industry to detriment of the rest of the country? i.e. someone getting a monopoly.
