i fail to see how breaking up a statue benefits anyone or anything? Like that vandalism is going to erase the history of what actually happened? better idea is to post a placard next to the statue with a short history lesson so that it does not get repeated as history so often does.
Ok, but Mr. White, it is long over due and if we don't start now then we will never finish. you don't delay taking the pill to cure the illness just because the pill is hard to swallow (or it wasn't your idea). I correct some of the statements here - once your real estate holdings are accepted into the new land tenure system you will not longer need to use the old system of paper history. it is only those properties that have disputes and do not have a TAX ID # that will have to remain on the old system and have a much more difficult, delayed drawn out and expensive sale of the property using lawyers. If your real estate is in the new system you will not need a lawyer... hence the double speak by my Mr. White whose income may be negatively affected by the change in how things are done in this country. Yes some folks may get a short straw but the vast majority of buyers, sellers and holders of real estate will see vast improvement. silly to screw the entire countries pooch to appease a few unlucky individuals (i.e. people who own in Key Tract, Rolleville, upper bogue, etc. etc.)
such a dumb statement. if it is "for sale" it is "on the market" even if it is not participating in the MLS database. It is more correctly termed a "Pocket Listing" which is "On The Market". goes to show that some people think they know more than they do. hubris is never a good marketing strategy IMHO.
What an absolute joke for the tribune to print such nonsense. "Bahamas charter yacht owners" Please correct me if I am wrong but if the owners of these vessels are Bahamians or permanent residents of the Bahamas they can simply and easily register the vessel in the Bahamas Port dept. and then they don't have to pay all these "crazy fees". What a dumb thing to say. Funny that this organization did not exist until just now. the website is copywright 2025 and the ownership is hidden. I mean how laughable that they can't be bothered to identify or go on record with their names and home addresses to support a cause that they believe in pushing for. This is all just extremely wealthy people not wanting to pay fees or taxes. I have to pay mine, they can pay theirs or duty the boat in to the Bahamas and no more fees and taxes and they can come and go as they please.
reny is a xenophobic typical Bahamian lawyer pretending to be robinhood but I suspect he is really just a wolf in sheeps clothing pretending to be a good person to get your vote. He wants to be Prime Minister but is now realising that will very likely never happen. ambition is good but only so much. you don't want to let your ambition kill your reputation. I think he is a typical political floozy happy to support who ever gives him a platform and an income. no real loyalty to anyone except himself which is a fair position to take in life but keep in mind it can hurt your policital ambitions.
what a complete waste of time and resources. The black market will never go away in this fashion and the black market is what drives the wealth and growth of the gangland world of illegal narcotics and weapons. if you kill the black market you kill the source of income and the gangland world dissipates pretty rapidly. The main backers of crypto are money launderers, the main backers of keeping drugs illegal are all the people making money off of it being illegal.
hahahaha, fibre to my home and office and still the connection strength is dismally slow and unreliable. literally speaking the satellite in a major thunderstorm is more reliable and has less packet loss, shorter ping than the fibre connections from both BTC and Cable Bahamas, both home and office. Cable and BTC lost their edge as soon as starlink hit the market and they have shown they are completely incapable of matching the service. They don't buy enough bandwith which means they have to throttle or slow down all the end users which is a direct link to how much profit they will make that year.
because the downtown hotels have all done so well over the recent decades. British colonial been closed or sold how many times? the ones by arawak cay barely alive. Heard margaritaville is barely making it and it is basically brand new. Downtown nassau is all chinese made t shirts and eastern european jewelry
Oh, and since we are on the topic. the expensive office internet service regularly get 25 to 30 mb download which is great but starlink averages 90MB and higher at a fraction of the cost even in cloudy stormy weather.
