another major govt expenditure which will be conducted behind closed doors. Again. no FOIA again. maybe a FOIA would have helped prevent this from occurring in the first place? The govt is 100% immune from it's own laws, correct? How much that COP got paid out? why the secrecy? if it was a fair amount of money then why hide it? it is was fair dealings there is nothing to hide from. its not like he has mattress of money sitting at home for thieves to target. I am sure the first rate COP is squeaky clean and keeps his hard earned winnings in the bank like the rest of us right? nothing to see here, move along move along.
is it a good time to discuss that anyone who drives with hazards flashing paid extra for their license (looking at you jitney driver) and the people who drive a car that has a colour that matches the road, no lights on, at dusk, in the rain
and under the immovable properties act the real estate market went drastically down hill. govt lost immeasurable amount of potential revenue and the economy tanked except for hotel jobs. lets all go work in the hotels since they are the only real viable business in the bahamas /s
the fact that it is not disclosed... Where is the FOIA commissioner when you want one eh? If you hide it we all assume evil at work but hey he prolly in church on sunday so no worries all his evil sins washed away in that 2 hours stint.
I'm sorry but is he complaining about paying $0.08 per foot of vessel? so they have to collect an additional $8.00 on a hundred foot boat? And then he says the 200 foot yacht will be paying $35,000 to register in the Bahamas? really? That 200 foot yacht is valued at around $15,000,000 to $20,000,000 and would be extremely higher rates for registration in other countries? These marina guys can't be serious right? Marinas are cash cows making a mint. hence why the govt is looking for some more revenue from them. If these wealthy yacht owners want to hang elsewhere it really doesn't bother me. No where is better to be than the Bahamas. if they want to play here they have to pay here.
