well when the streets of the bahamas are flooded with illegally imported firearms from none other than the US of A. I'm not sure I am in favour of making it easier for the american scum to smuggle weapons into the Bahamas. either the Bahamas completely relaxes and encourages gun ownership or we don't. self entitled americans will go to dubai and have sex on the beach and claim innocence. It is the duty of the traveller to learn the laws of the land they intend to visit. silly entitled statement.

It is private. The sewer cost should be bourne by the people who use it. It is not the govt responsibility to fix private infrastructure. Please get your facts straight.

We can place all of this every last ounce of inconvenience on the Compliance Commission of the Bahamas and BFSB and the Central Bank. Their only concern is getting more hedge funds and UHN's to deposit cash into the Bahamas. They could care absolutely less about the welfare of Bahamians and even less about the various NGOs who would like to help out in this country. Oh and also the numbers houses and (fake) churches also share in this statement for causing the rest of the bahamas major inconvenience all for their personal financial benefit.

Ha! a non-profit I am involved with has maintained a bank account since it was started in the early 1970s. Since 2019 the NPO has not received a bank statement and cannot get online banking set up. The NPO has a very hard time knowing how much funds are actually in the account at any given time. it is a travesty and the Central Bank and The Compliance Commissoin are probably directly responsible for the loss of positive contributions of civil society to the growth and well being of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas

DWW says...

I wish I lived in this utopian world that the bankers are in. It is plain nigh to impossible for a NPO to get a bank account set up in this country. many are now just in peoples names for simplicity but this creates its own set of problems for transparency and accountability in the sector.
