Democracy is the worst form of govt, but we have not found a better one. care to share your better option? dictatorship or quasi commy? Ooo, maybe we can appoint a king of the Bahamas, how do I apply for that job?
Planning and subd act 2010. Everyone including govt it breaking the law. Govt is breaking the law in not providing automobile license plates. Plp broke the law using govt funds to have fun in Bermuda. Should I go on?
Yes lets continue to keep the street gangs well funded and keep the oh so lucrative income all 100% VAT and Duty free commerce going to the select few willing to take that big risk in the black market. They don't even have to pay that crazy high customs broker fee to import the stuff.
The real reason for the delay is I bet due to 2 things. firstly trying to figure out what to do with the thousands of people rotting away in Fox Hill on marijuana charges, and secondly how to set it up so that only 2 or 3 lucky people get to control the entire market through legislation? (Like how only 5 gambling licenses were issued and everyone else can suck teet. or how couple lucky people get all the toilet paper govt contracts at great benefit)
maybe the government full of lawyers can fix the land tenure issue so it doesn't take a year to complete a real estate transaction and then still find out years later that there is a title problem. No point in spinning wheels until you fix the chassis needed to go anywhere.
May I suggest that everyone named in the article and everyone commenting here needs to read the **Planning and Subdivision Act 2010** and then come back with sensible perspective on this nonsense. There is precedent to require bonds and the fact that the potential buyer refuses to lodge one speaks volumes of his true intentions? I don't care if the marina or hotel get rebuilt, I like TC just the way it is right now. quiet, peaceful, calm and perfect. If someone doesn't make a solid return on an investment by building the hotel, marina, casino etc. it makes no difference to me.
Once again, the wrong people making decisions in secret and we all get screw. When will the silo mentality of the Bahamas and the government change for the better. Maybe next time consult with the person's you intend to help/hurt before making these big decisions. Acting like an overlord from some dystopian movie is fit for Qatat but not the way it should be done in "sunny" bahamaland. Or are we still stuck in the corrupted 80s? Sebas can easily swallow a relatively small loss on a not so smart decision. LOL say service to the country, I bet he never done a single selfless act in his entire life. He should try it sometime.
