Whilst this all sounds good, has the liabilities of the Government gone up or down during this period. As this may indicate them putting off newer invoices to pay the older ones and we will have the same problem next year.
In order for him to be able to not charge VAT to Quality Market for goods from Super value they need to be part of the Same VAT group. If they are there should be no VAT. If they aren't then he must charge VAT. You shouldn't need a commission to tell you that. AS he owns both he should have them in a group, if he doesn't want to then Super Value charges VAT and records it on their books as a output whilst Quality records it as an Input, net effect is still $0.
Pretty much every day in this country someone is being beaten by a police officer or an immigration officer. We all know this, and this has been going on for years. This was something the PLP could have tried to stop when they were in power, but as usual they did nothing. Due to that i need not listen to Fred's words on what is happening in the US (even if i don't agree with what happened.).
They still need a letter of Good standing, its just done behind the scenes by Government. That way easing the amount of paperwork a business needs to get in order to be business license compliant.
I may have said ti wrong. I meant before they consider increasing controibutions or decreasing benefits, firstly make sure everyone is paying what they should. Then if there is a shortfall other items should be considered. In addition the NIB should have the accounts fully published and an explanation given if they do not make a return over a certain benchmark as this shows those in charge of the funds are not knowledgeable enough to advise them. And finally stop using NIB to pay for Government largess. Every time a new capital expenditure is needed NIB is raided as though they will get those returns.
Why does the Government always say they are going to go after non payers of taxes. They always say this and then i hear nothing. Make a big thing out of it. Splash that persons face across the papers and TV doing the bank lane shuffle. Make sure all know they will be held accountable. As it is we all know thats just talk. They are still much more likely to increase the contributions then actually go after someone. As ever the honest are forced to pay more for the dishonest.
When i was a kid it was just a ramp and one shack where an old man used to sell his conch and fish. I used to play in that area with no problems. Shame that areas always become like this, somehow we need to get order in this country where rules are obeyed and people treat each other with decency.
Don't need no new laws, just enforce those on the books. But we have all been here long enough to know that all that will really happen is they will do some speed traps for a couple of days, maybe even a week, and thats it. All the time i can guarantee that if there is a traffic light in front of any police station the red is being run at least 10 times an hour.
translation: we are finding out the actual implications of what we proposed and now want to quickly change that, as we hadn't really thought this bill through.
The Minister of Tourism keeps telling us about the amazing increase in tourists coming here. I would guess this increase was not taking into account when the budget was done. The Government should be seeing a huge increase in revenue due to this from departure tax, to the VAT these tourists spend when eating and drinking. If we are not doing good now in the boom time then we are done when a recession comes (and it will one day).
