Hurry up and legalise it. Whilst i don't smoke it, i know plenty that do and the idea that these young kids can have their life destroyed by being thrown in jail for a little spliff (which most did at a young age), is stupid (of course only those from poor areas will be put in jail, if you rich you will get off).
How is it that Potters Cay has these sort of crimes at least once or twice every year. That area should be blanketed with CCTV (won't stop the crime but at least will identify who did it), and have police patrol. When i was a kid i used to love going there and seeing the live fish you could choose etc. this was when it was a fishermans area. It is now just a number of rundown bars where people think twice about going. Unfortunately it won't change as it will take a mindset change for change to happen and that won't happen.
This has been going on for ever. UBP used to do it, PLP did it, and FNM doing it. If DNA gets in they'll do it. Its not right, but we have no real regard for what is right or wrong so it won't stop.
Then taxes need to go up plenty to pay for health care if it is meant to be free. In reality the taxes are there to subsidise the cost of it, not make it 100% free.
If the young men are not able to handle themselves due to the lack of clothes woman wear this is an indictment on them, and the failing of the Church in bringing up our children. In addition its always amazing at what the Church goes after, never something their members do. 70% of our children are born out of wedlock, this is a no no per the bible, and yet the Church leaders seem to not mind. The above is another example of why more and more people are shunning churches. Sure they may believe but they can't stand the hypocrisy of the churches.
If the figures are correct then this is a large miss by the Government. Peter Turnquests response is laughable. All he is trying to do is deflect. At no point did he answer why such a large difference. Yes allowing hotels and construction to start the VAT later will affect the amount raised, but all this does is show how inept they were at raising the VAT. This should have been planned into all their figures when they did it. but no we all remember, there was the budget then two months of Government changing their plans due to them realising the actual implications of the changes.
That just says they want to do it, not that they did. Like saying they want to eliminate the deficit before the next election. Sounds great but doesn't mean it will happen.
Whilst this all sounds good, has the liabilities of the Government gone up or down during this period. As this may indicate them putting off newer invoices to pay the older ones and we will have the same problem next year.
In order for him to be able to not charge VAT to Quality Market for goods from Super value they need to be part of the Same VAT group. If they are there should be no VAT. If they aren't then he must charge VAT. You shouldn't need a commission to tell you that. AS he owns both he should have them in a group, if he doesn't want to then Super Value charges VAT and records it on their books as a output whilst Quality records it as an Input, net effect is still $0.
Pretty much every day in this country someone is being beaten by a police officer or an immigration officer. We all know this, and this has been going on for years. This was something the PLP could have tried to stop when they were in power, but as usual they did nothing. Due to that i need not listen to Fred's words on what is happening in the US (even if i don't agree with what happened.).
