For as long as i can remember Government has talked about a unified bus system (both FNM and PLP), and all that has happened is money has been spent (or taken) and no unified bus system. It's not hard to do, pretty much everywhere else has it so we are not creating a new system. But no the issue will be how to make sure those who are benefiting currently will continue to do so (not the bus drivers but the owners). Hopefully we will get a unified system but i am realistic enough to say probably not likely.

I think you are blaming Osbourne too much. Whilst she may be at fault sometimes if the equipment is not properly grounded then it is all the people who have been involved in BEC/BPL since it started.

Sounds good, as long as the web shops agree to allow anyone to open up webshops. Of course that won't happen as they don't want that, even though that is discrimination against every single Bahamian who is not already a web shop owner.

This does not concern the Government. They will say to the people look we put duty down at the start of August so when you bought it should have been cheaper so obviously the merchant is ripping you off. Of course they will conveniently forget that the merchant has bought those items in before the August 1st start so they have the duty rate in them. Until they sell those with duty in they will not be able to reduce prices. And the annoying thing for the merchant will be that people will believe the Government and say how greedy the merchant is, which makes the Government look good.

They are just using the new tax laws as the reason for closing these. They were probably not profitable and now they are able to close without people saying they are going to have issues paying out peoples winnings. If these areas were profitable, they would have seen out the first few months to work out if they could make it or not.

You must not travel to many countries, as more and more are not observing the sabbath.

Thank you. Hopefully others read and now understand how our system works. As you said if these MP's were honourable they should have resigned first, however they voted no in the hope that the backlash would make Minnis think again. As it is, he has enough MP's that he can afford to have many back benchers at this time.

Looks like FNM have made sure they won't be winning next time, of course that probably just means PLP coming back (as i haven't heard anything from DNA and they should be all over the place at the moment). So give it 5-15 years we will be like Barbados. As i fully expect this Government to start to increase everyone's pay when they agitate for more, and i will no doubt hear all these new airports will go millions over budget. All the while thinking everything's rosy as they have all this extra revenue. Basically they will do what the PLP did with the VAT windfall in 2015 which is spend and still make us more in debt.

Dawes says...

This is what is meant to happen if you go against the rules. I assume these MP's knew this and still went ahead. Of course if the PM had not fired them he would have been called weak, and by firing them he is called a dictator. All by people who do not understand how our parliamentary system works.

This just shows that this was not planned by the ministry of finance. If it was planned all these guides would have been released as soon as the Minister of Finance spoke. As it is they are only now realising what the changes will mean. As always its donkey backwards over here.
