Can Mr. Bastain now stop complaining about the mark up the gas retailers are allowed, as i am sure they don't need a mark up increase if paying for an audit is of no worry to him. Wonder if this is the proverbial singing for your supper move by Mr. Bastain. Also if a business person is highly involved in their business they know exactly where they are and do not need an audit to show that. Audits are beneficial for people to confirm what the business executives say is true.
So the PS admits the need for audited FS has nothing to do with the business license fee needs, but rather to give Government more ideas on what additional taxes it can levy. No doubt next week he will be saying how much easier it is becoming to do business over here. It is very scary to think that one of the most powerful financial persons in the country has no idea what goes into an audit and thinks that this country can magically audit hundreds of companies that have never had an audit in 4-6 months. Don't know why each year i expect any better over here, all the Government keeps doing is increasing costs and make it more time consuming to do business.
Why do we keep this idea that if there was no bail the murder rate would be almost non existent. People should have bail if the nation can not have them tried in a reasonable time. The idea should not be to get rid of bail but to have the court cases in a much quicker time frame. Its only been just over a year and SBF has already been tried and convicted. If that was over here we still wouldn't have had the first day of court yet.
Wait theres a company that is meant to maintain the navigational aids around Nassau? They obviously get paid whether they do or not, as the light by Sandy Cay is no longer there and hasnt been for months.
A bigger worry is that yet again the turnout was lousy. The parties need to realize that a growing part of the population has no faith that any party will do anything that will make a noticeable change and as such they are not voting (around 37% didn't vote, which is more then voted for the winner). Unfortunately as long as its FNM and PLP switching who wins they won't care (and no this does not mean i want COI to win, though for this particular election it would have been interesting if they had).
They don't want you to know. That way they can say they put in the paper and its your fault for not fighting it. By then its too late and they are laughing
The weather wasn't bad on the day in question. If it was an all boats have to remain in port then half the time boats would not be allowed out. The next day it started to get bad. But this was before it got bad.
There is $0 incentive to use Solar here from the Government. You have to go through an approval process that takes months. They have actively said they do not want people to be able to provide more solar then they need which would mean BPL buying it back and they discourage large companies from making the investment as you need even more approval over a certain MW. The fact is Government talks a good talk on climate change, but when it comes down to Government having to make decisions that may cost them or their friends money the answer is always no and we should blame other countries for our issues. Finally URCA is useless, was when it started and even more so now it has grown bigger.

So the PLP under Christie twice and Davis now can't put back in place the removable property act?
