Strike, as sickened said we won't notice any difference. I think Ministry of works has been on strike for last few years, based on the roads. And whoever is in charge of maintenance has been on strike since their first day.
The PLP was not that successful in the last general election. They won 52% of those who voted (FNM was 56.99% in 2017). Of those registered to vote they only won 34.14% (FNM 50.35%). This is not a success. the fact is Most Bahamians have no faith in either party, so just go with whichever one is not in power at each general election. It is only because of a lack of a decent third party that these two keep winning. When that changes they will go the way of all the other parties and the Bahamas should be better for it.
wait is she honestly saying that the ills of BPL are all down to this and not other things. In particular the hedging fiasco which she mentions has caused no issue for BPL. Is that because you have increased prices by 60% for the population, so that BPL won't be affected by it? BPL has serious issues which no Government for 20 years has tried to fix, i don't expect this Government to be any different. Finally to have a cost overrun of $20 odd million on a $95 million building is probably the most cost efficient overrun by Government ever. Would wish the Baseball stadium overrun could have been that small.
Fully agree. The idea that because the person may have done something bad then it is ok is a stupid. We need a massive change in this country, which will come one way or another. However if we don't do anything that change will be a lot more painful.
WE don't do health and safety here. We accept that every year there will be a couple of deaths and many serious injuries on building sites. IF we wanted to reduce these we would enforce health and safety laws. I shouldn't see people 5 floors up on a roof with no safety harness, or people wearing no hard helmets. When was the last time someone inspected buildings to say they were safe? . Until that changes tragic situations such as these will continue.
