Enraged or frustrated, this young lady needs to learn that there is a proper way to comport yourself when applying for a job. Employers are free to hire whom they wish and to make whatever job requirements they need to best operate their business. They are not a charity, and do not HAVE to give out jobs, as this young lady seems to feel entitled to.
I think we can agree that the Bahamas public education system has failed our young people for years. This is what we are getting fresh out of high school -- young people who cannot read or write properly and have no idea how to behave professionally.
I was thinking the same thing. This young lady surely cannot expect to gain a job writing that badly and having a bad attitude on top of it. Why does it have to be "the white lady"? Is the implication that somehow you were cheated out of a job because of "the white lady"? This is the problem -- way too many people feeling entitled and not taking responsibility for themselves. It's always someone else's fault.
The court has made its judgment. Now the government needs to comply and close the Blackbeard Cay operation down. The law must be followed. It doesn't get any simpler than this. However, this government of ours seems to have great difficulty with following the law -- which is why this issue exists in the first place!
Birdie, your logic, as usual has flown the coop. Employees working for an illegal operation do not get to keep their jobs when the operation is closed down. it's one thing to have sympathy for the unemployed, but put your ire where ire is due -- your beloved PLP government who allowed this project to continue without the proper permits or EIAs. Put blame where blame is due -- not Duncombe or Smith.
Yes, I do hope the full story of this incident will be investigated and revealed. This young man died needlessly. And charges of negligent homicide may well be appropriate depending on what investigators find.
Oh, for God's sake, get on with it! Enough talking about it. File charges and let the chips fall where they may. Enough with the stalling, though I suspect the stalling has more to do with damage control, as I doubt there is just ONE person involved in this.
And think about this, if it were just an FNM cabinet minister to be charged, they would have done it a long time ago. So either they are waiting to make a political statement timed with the next election or they are worried that some of their own PLP party folk are also involved. Either way, it's more corruption that just never seems to see the light of day in this country.
The PLP didn't miss the bus -- they are the reason for the whole crime problem -- which started a very long time ago in the Pindling administration. What we see now is years of corruption and criminals being allowed to run amok. We are only reaping what had been sown many years ago - in the late 1960s.
Real fight or not, the judge has ruled the operation be closed, the dolphins removed, and the land returned to its prior state. Now the government just needs to enforce it. Nothing more.
Yes, but since we can only achieve a D grade in Maths, 9 - 3 still equals 9.
$50, 000 to repair the roof strikes me as a more reasonable number. So, boys and girls, who can tell me what $500,000 - $50,000 equals? Yep, that is called kickbacks.

Yes, if that's what it takes to combat crime. Surely it's about the good of the country and the Bahamian people, and not just about votes, right?
Oh, right, that's not how it works at all, is it? Sorry for daring to dream.
