Gomez is an idiot. If he were really interested in dealing with "conflict of interest" and corruption in government, he doesn't have far too look and could do well starting with his own party.
Personally, I'd like to see the mandatory 15% gratuity done away with. Let me decide if a tip is warranted based on the service I receive. Too many of our people in the service industry either don't get the tips at all (management keeps them), or they know they are getting them, so dont' care. With the rise in minimum wage, this should make doing away with mandatory gratuities an easy decision - unless the union are as out of touch as the government.
Oh, so it's the ambulance driver's fault? Birdie, surely you can't mean some of the silly things you say.
If the Bahamas was a good and decent society, no one would have bothered with the ambulance -- keys or no keys. But look what we've come to accept as normal in this screwed-up, crime-ridden and corrupted little country of ours.
The little punk should be made to pay for every last cent of the damage done -- including 1000 hours of volunteer work at the hospital. I also like the idea of him having to clean the old lady's yard weekly. We have to send a message that this sort of behaviour is unacceptable in a decent society.
And he'd best be glad that the old lady survived, because otherwise, he would be facing manslaughter charges.
Yes, I really would like to know whose side Mr. Christie and his PLP party is on. Evidence suggests their side with their "all for me, baby" attitudes, but could they possibly have some interest in the Bahamian people? Especially the ones old enough to vote?
Unfortunately, the Chinese are only muddying the waters. We know which side Perry Christie is on -- his and his cronies.
We need to get rid of this albatross and immense drain on the national purse. We already have other airlines owned by private entities who have proven they can service the out islands. Why not give them initial short-term subsidies to finance more planes to take over the Bahamasair role, then consign Bahamasair to the junk heap it belongs?
Regardless, I have no idea where you get your information from -- MP LBT stays in many hotels/guest houses in Long Island, both north and south. Why do you want to make this an FNM issue when the topic is why the PLP have chosen to change a 40-year old contract now -- especially after PM Christie has made it clear that he hopes these contracts are given to his friends and supporters?
It will be very interesting indeed to see who owns these high-end homes! Wonder if we will every be told? As with everything else lately, this information never seems to find the light of day.
