An example of good intentions but poor management & abundant greed. Moorings are an effective tool in areas of sensitive bottom topography, such as reef/coral zones, areas of poor anchor holding grounds such as grassy meadows, at popular protected park locations.
What's next, allowing spear guns & scuba because wholesaler demand is higher than supply? Could it be there are less divers working, or more obvious poor management of resources?

Only after Nassau has run out of space, extreeme heavy traffic, very high a cost of living & housing, with environmental & health concerns from overpopulation will they consider other islands opportunities... there yet? Reason why Atlantis was moved from Andros to NP. It should have been the seed for theme-tourism, expansions of the seat of government in an ample location with resources of water & space for development. A win -win scenario for NP as a historical-cultural center, Nearby Andros as governmental administrative service center and GB as industrial educational research center, opening the door to world skills for Bahamians without having to leave. The easiest method to control people? Limit opportunities by poor education, poor housing, poor health, high population, cost & polution...Mumbai comes to mind.
The highly competitive Cruise Ship industry, with investments in multi-hundred-million-dollar ships, logistics, marketing, locations, are serious amounts. Thus they maintain absolute control on every means of funds available from their Discount-Clients, leaving scraps for local businesses & families. To encourage 50% of similar investments in local tourist facilities & locations, would advance the economies of many communities. That is what governments should be promoting, instead of beign mesmerized by impressive Cruise numbers with very Limited Impact. Minimize placing inumerable hurdles for participants & investors, both local & foreign.
