Shut Bahamasair down! Since 1973 taxpayers have subsidized Bahamasair to the tune of over 500 million dollars. We can not afford this inefficient, albatross around our necks any longer. This money is better spent elsewhere. There is no need for this airline anyway as the private sector can replace it at much less cost to overburdened taxpayers.
Birdie my comment clearly went right over your head, but then intellectualism or even common sense was never your strong point. I was engaging in satire, by answering a ridiculous comment with an equally ridiculous comment. Of course no one should be flogged but it is interesting that you claim to care for poor black people, yet the only people you want flogged happen to be poor black people. Notice Mr Munroe said nothing about flogging illegal Americans who sometimes enter our country. As for road blocks, they are illegal, Fred Smith proved this in court a long time ago, but you love lawlessness as you love this lawless government. So you enjoy sitting in your illegal roadblock, not for me as I know my rights and intend to see they are not being violated.
Get ready for another whitewash. We have yet to hear of any discipline for the persons who allegedly abused the Cuban detainees years ago. Fred Mitchell should be ashamed of himself.
It is time the government imposed a special tax on all fast food restaurants. Why should I pay extra taxes (NHI) for all of these obese masses of redundant protoplasm ( Fat people) who gorge themselves and will burden the public healthcare system with completely preventable diseases and by the way continue to make these men fantastically rich. They reap the profits while we pay the bill for the diseases caused by all this unhealthy fast food. Tax fast food heavily and therefore encourage persons to eat healthier!
How about flogging Mr. Munroe for being so asinine. Seriously, we need to do away with these honors when we have a person of his supposed standing in society making such ridiculous suggestions. It is clear now with such leaders why we have so many seemingly intractable problems and are so backwards in our thinking in this country. If the educated can be so asinine what about the views of the Bahamian ( most of our population ) with a D average or worse.
Why can this government not respect human and civil rights ? Why do we abuse Cuban detainees, Haitian immigrants, and female detainees? We need to stop the abuse, the world is watching!
Again, why are these shares not being offered to the small retail investor? It is unjust, this government has no interest in empowering the small Bahamian. Instead these shares will be allocated to the chosen, favorite few. Mr. Bowe's explanation is pure BS, we are not that dumb. He knows these shares will be massively oversubscribed as this company will be very profitable, so he should save his lies and stop insulting Bahamians. He is a lackey engaging in unjust practices, to the detriment of the average Bahamian, he should be embarrassed to make such asinine comments. Offer these shares to ALL Bahamians, allocating them from the bottom up, smallest orders first, this will ensure the widest shareholder base possible.
