The Government policy will destroy the Freeport economy. Contrary to what the Government said last year there will be no new construction and certainly none for second homes.
Forget winter residents as well.
Good job Government, you out did yourselves with this one.
Mr. Butler, what you suggest can't happen. We are a "Bahamian only" xenophobic country with an immigration policy tat is designed to keep us in poverty.
You are thinking to intelligently and make much more sense than we can understand.
Besides we would have to change our ways, and we are stuck in the 1950's and 1960's. Just look at the large number of old age government ministers.
Our PM and the leader of the FNM are in their 60's and 70's. More of the same old, same old.
Yes, Mr. Wilson but go after the civil servants who, for whatever reason, turn a blind eye or don't collect the correct tax first. Don't make life impossible for business to operate.
Maybe you should spend more time in ares such as Bain Town. You might be surprised to find out ow much you can collect..
***"And Charles Turner, the Customs Comptroller, last year told this newspaper that the agency had been experiencing “challenges” in keeping pace with the courier sector, and the surge in imports generated by Bahamians purchasing online."***

The two members are to be commended for standing up for all of us, for doing their part to protect our future. Government must know that there are some of us out there who will stand up.
It is sad when you see Peter Turnquest wine about it and then give in....spineless. I would not want him to represent our country in any international negotiations. He will wine and complain and then let them walk all over us. Useless....utterly useless.

Interesting, you missed the entire point of the Editorial.
It was not about Rufa but about due process.
Rufa is nothing, it about anyone's right to be at their trial.
This is about the need for us to speak up when Constitutional rights are being ignored or trampled on.
