Unlike Mr. Carney at the Bank of England, Mr. Rolle has not been proactive in any way.
The Rating Agencies all stated their displeasure over the handling of Bank of Bahamas. Mr. Rolle is the 'regulator' of the banks and has does nothing about BOB.
Mr. Rolle has been silent about the effect that a downgrade is going to have over the next few months.
He has yet to tell us how the US Dollar reserves are made up, even though many have questioned the quality of these so called reserves.
No the man just sits there and waits for his pay check.
John Rolle saw what the Bank of England did and copied them. He has no idea why they did it other than they said that they were doing it to boost the economy to counter the effect of Brexit.
But the situations are totally different.
I too believe that he was doing as his political masters have told him.
"Peter Turnquest, Free National Movement (FNM) deputy leader, said yesterday that his party plans to press the issue."
Plans???? The FNM is no better than the PLP. Plans??? That is only because, like Christie, they were asked and, like Christie, they plan (i.e. at sometime in the future, the very long future, after we are all dead) "to press the issue".
You have had all year to be pressing the issue. The fnm=plp=fnm=plp
The Government is abusing the law but not giving, what should be a standard approval.
The law was not designed to prevent this type of march but armed and reckless ones.
The last march showed that the real marchers were peaceful though I would not put it past this government (PLP) to insert some trouble makers this time.
While Mr. Smith makes some very good points he seems to have conveniently, or perhaps politically, failed to recognize the fact that the Rating Agencies do this for most countries and large corporations.
They don't suddenly change their criteria when they come to The Bahamas.
The Bahamas failed to meet their criteria and got down graded, it is a simple as that.
