If the people do not have the money to pay the light bill that is what Social Services is supposed to be there for. Social Services is supposed to make an assessment of the families ability to pay and give assistance, if deemed necessary.
The power company is not supposed to be a charitable institution It is a business and not a charitable organization providing social services.
The power company does not have staff trained for social services because that is not the business that it is in.
The failure of Social Services to do what it should be doing is why we, as a Country, are in such a mess.
No observer2, I think that you have miss read the article. GB Power is not singling out Bahamians, they are billing ALL their customers. Guess who will pay the largest share?
Those same companies that you are complaining about will pay the most because they are the largest consumers. So taking your reasoning, it is those foreigners, whom you seem to dislike, that will be paying for us Bahamians to benefit from..
The government, by adding 75% tax on cars has deliberately priced new cars out of the reach of the average Bahamian.
The government wants to keep Bahamians down. The have dumbed down education and taxed the average man to the point that he has to beg the government for everything.
The average Bahamian is nothing more than a slave to his master government.
Port Lucaya was one of the first places to have its power restored. Many of the tenants have been ready to open for over 10 days but the owners are stopping them.
People need to work.
