Two things 1. Nothing will happen to the Civil Servants who cost use all this money. In the private sector they would lose their job and have trouble finding another. There are no cosequenses for ones actions in the Civil Service. They will probably just get transferred to another government department. 2.We talk about the Hatian problem but never talk about the Defence Force problem. An 80 mile stretch of water is the area thaat the haitians come from. Yet, 8 Defence Force vessels plus a plane and the Haitians make it all the way to Nassau and even Grand Bahama undetected.
Maybe we need to change our focus. The current one allows for corrupt Civil Services.
Children born to unwed mothers have always been given citizenship. Indeed we as a Christian have always rewarded her adultery and punnished the Bahamian mother who dared to marry a foreigner and have their child outside The Bahamas by denying it to those children. Where have you been???
You are correct. The brain drain of our educated is alarming.
They have gone because they see the advantage of living in the real world of the 21st Century and not the current Bahamas stuck in the old out dated thinking of the19th Century.
"Mr Goudie added that the annual cost of taking a rapid antigen test would exceed over $1,000."
Guess everyone will have to get a lower salaery increase (at the end of the year) for the business to cover the cost of the test for those who won't get vaccinated.
The cost of the test is an extra cost and the money comes off the profitability of the business.
"According to the document, the financial services industry is generally required to have “appropriately capitalised entities” in each market jurisdiction, meaning their profits are generally already taxed in each respective market."
This is the arguement to exclude the Financial Services etc in the UK from the Tax proposal.
I have some reservations about the safety of these rushed vaccines, however, looking at the odds, I have decided to get vaccinated and have already had my first shot, second one soon.
We Bahamians like to talk about our soverignty but the fact is that we are a very tiny nation who no one, other than us cares much about. So if the other nations, exercising their "soverignty", puts us on a "watch list" or "no go zone" because we have decided not to get vaccinated as a nation we will pay the price.
The last year COVID 19 has bankrupted many businesses and put thousands out of work. The world is saying to get vaccinated or there will be restrictions.

You left Hutchison in control of two major elements for the cargo hub. What ever makes you think that it will happen unless they agree?
Bahamas Government has no control. Hutchison rules, they call all the shots.
