Well Tal, I am not a follower of LBT and so I can't comment on what she is doing. But on reading and listening to the news, I don't think that Minnis is a viable alternative to the PM.
I am really left in a quandary, at the moment, as none of the parties seem to be up to the job of running this country.
Just look at the number of broke taxis on the road. No regulation, no inspections, no enforcement. "Incompetent," is the word that comes to mind. "Do nothing," two other words that come to mind.
I think Mr. Kerr understands, but he is hoping that the PM will see the light, that if he does this it will ensure that his legacy will be one that no one would want to be connected with because of its disastrous economic consequences.
The reason The Bahamas is loosing more than its fair share of financial businesses is because we don't regulate.
The Central Bank has failed, not only Bahamians in Gulf Union Bank, but also foreigners in Suisse Security, Guardian Trust Company and many, many more.
The Central Bank has a Bank Supervision Department that either does nothing or doesn't know what it is doing.
Bahamians are mistreated by the banks and have no one to go to who will enforce anything. In addition there is no oversight of the way banks operate their accounts and loans with customers.

When it does, the politicians will be out but the civil servants will be out of jobs and pensions.
