Economist says...

We have a country with one leader who is performing poorly and another who, if in power, would be even worse.

We are truely caught between "the devil and the deep blue sea."

Economist says...

The govermnents response continues to be totally inadiquate.

Their testing and tracing is a joke. Often persons, who's names have beeen given to te Ministry of Health are never contacted. Pathetic.

Economist says...

"Some of us excelled with our respective universities only to return to have a non-Bahamian instruct us what we are worth. What is worse is that they're often with a lower aptitude, yet folks like you spew this nonsense of where we all sit in the intellectual food chain."

I am tired of all the whining.

Then start your own business and hire Bahamains. If you are as good as you say, you should be able to compete. Besides with the ability to work in such a field you could sell your services overseas as well. as you say "There are a lot of brilliant Bahamians out there who can compete with anyone else in the world." DO IT

Sweden 8th in the world at 571 deaths per 100,000.

Norway, which share s hailf the boarder with Sweden, is 78th in the world with 47 deaths per 100,000.

Not so sure Sweden is the way to go. I prefer the way Norway has handled it.

Economist says...

I agree completely with your comments with respect to government communication on details.

I don't watch the PM anymore because he takes forever to read a short address. I try to get a copy of it afterwards.

Not only that, I am not in primary school and am offended by the PM's condescending delivery.

Economist says...

Does he put this down to the patients age, weight etc?

Is the virus mutating in The Bahamas and becoming more virulent?

Other countries seem to be getting better at treating patients so wat is going on here?

Economist says...

Sweden also has the 8th highest death rate in the world from COVID 19. That is out of 213 countries and territories. That is a very high death rate.

Economist says...

The limiting of three days forces people together so the spread of COVID 19 is increased.

The Government is forcing sick people (not tested, or can't afford the test priviately as Government doesn't test unless you are already sick, it or are scared to lose their jobs etc) on the healthy ones.

The same thing is happening at the foodstores with people in long lines for hours on end.

Makes no sense.

Economist says...

Sweden has 571 deaths per million. Germany has 111 deaths per million.
