Thank you Dr. Sands for telling us the truth about how deadly this virus is to Bahamains in particular.
Thank you for explaining why many more Bahamians will die from this, than those in other countries, because of the huge number of underlying health issues that Bahamians have. You are giving us a better understanding as to why it is so important that we remain at home and are very careful about social distancing.
40% of us have 3 or more underlying issues. We know from the news reports that just a single underlying issue can be deadly with this virus. We see a large number of Afro-Americans dying in the US. They are dying in dispraportionate numbers because of undrlying health issues such as the ones we have 3 or more of.
Times of crisis define leadership. It would appear that there are very few leaders who planned.
Countries where the death rate is low, on a per capita basis, include South Kores, Singapore, Israel, Canada, and Germany (who has done more testing per capita than France, Spain and the UK combined.
Luxembourg has the a very low drath rate, probably because it as tested more people per capita than any other country.
These lockdowns won't help much unless we test, test and test.
They won't test you until you are ready for hospital. By then it is too late for many.
Countries who have kept the death rate down test, test and test.
That way they can start to treat early on and avoid the hospital and they can trace others early on who may have been incontact isolate them and those with it.
Low testing means a lot more Bahamians will die. Sad.
I have been staying at home as you asked. Haven't been to the food store since the 19th but by the tone of your statement I need to panic a go try but out the food store now as it sounds that you are going to make that a major exercise of "begging and pleading justification" to go.
This is going from the sublime to the ridiculous.
I thought that the police were out there to stop people who were not supposed to be out.
So because you can't control 1,000 people you are going to punish all 400,000?
It is because that dumb Commissioner of Police is incapable of enforcing the law on law breakers and makes everyone pay for one of two bad apples. Better not get caught speeding because he will get the PM to ban cars.
Am I the only one, but does Ms. Bowers have a closer relationship with the St. George family than most US diplomates have had in the past.
I guess she does not mind the Chineese interest and control of Freeport Harbour just a few miles off the U.S. coast. I say that because the St. Georges are partnners with the Chinese and let the Chinese do as they want.

It is clear the PM has no idea of what he is doing.
What if you were planing to go tomorrow to get groceries as you have not been for a week?
I guess he believes that you can starve the virus.
How can you plan when he keeps dumping things on you?
You had better go out at every opportunity as you never know when he will do something stupid.
