This most daft and corrupt Davis led PLP government is handing over to the greedy Snake and his band of local and foreign cronies the entire energy sector of our small nation without any regard to the national security implications of doing so.

And this most reckless and dangerous privatisation is being done under the pretense of a Public-Private-Partnership that will benefit the Bahamian people. nothing could be further from the truth! All the monopolistic profits from this sordid arrangement will go the greedy Snake and his cronies, leaving all the socialized costs to be by Bahamian taxpayers through extremely high and unaffordable electricity rates.

The mere fact that the rate setting process will be taken away from URCA and placed in the hands of the glaringly incompetent Jobeth Davis as minister of transport and energy really says all there is to say here about this most corrupt give away of our country's energy sector. And Jobeth has made it known that the wealthy gated communities need to pay much higher electricity rates so that less fortunate Bahamians and the PLP government's cronies can pay much lower rates, if anything at all!!!

This breaking up of BPL's three inter-dependent operating segments is a sure fire recipe for making the existing financial mess a monumental crippling disaster that will leave our country in darkness. Can you just imagine the feuding that will go on between the different owners of the generation, transmission and distribution segments as they each jockey and fight tooth and nail to pick clean the pockets of all electricity consumers while obtaining all sorts of investment subsidies for themselves from the leaders of this most corrupt PLP government ???!!!!

Here we have our most incompetent PM Davis saying with a straight face that the power engines need fans and air conditioning in order to function and avoid power outages. well monkey be. what about us people who need fans and air conditioning to stay alive during the scorching summer days and nights to come ????!!!! what about the many elderly who will perish because of the deadly summer heat that lies ahead????!!!!

Stumpy Davis has been PM or Deputy PM under PLP governments for many years. Why hasn't he and cabinet ministers done anything for the Bahamian people? Was he too pre-occupied travelling abroad with his spouse to meaningless lavish events at the taxpayers' expense? Was he too busy picking out all of the fancy new features that his brand spanking new BMW is loaded with at cost of over $200,000+ to the taxpayers? Was he just tied up with too many backroom deals aimed at feathering the nests of himself and his cohorts, both local and foreign?

And of course stumpy Davis just wants us to believe climate change has somehow caused all of the problems that have been developing at BPL/BEC when in fact gross mismanagement, waste, fraud, etc. that have occurred right under his nose are responsible for our country's energy nightmare with its knock-on effect on our GDP, NDP, national debt, etc. No Mr. PM. The Bahamian people are not nearly as stupid as you would like to believe.

I smell a corrupt PM who, using his dumbo AG Pinder as his pied piper of choice on all matters relating to "juicy" BPL contracts, is paving the way for the Bahamian people to be bitten by a poisonous Snake. And lying in wait with their already selected foreign partners are the other greedy and financially interested local scoundrels who are also licking their chops at the prospect of feasting on the wealthier electricity consumers using an income based rate structure.

I would encourage all persons deeply concerned about the disastrous consequences to flow from the new Electricity and Natural Gas Bills to read Claude Hanna's excellent letter to the Editor of The Tribune that was published in a late April.

The letter concisely addresses the unconstitutional, national security and many other most serious issues that these two new statutes will expose and subject our nation and its people to.
The dire consequences Bahamians will face from the enactment of these two bills should deservedly be politically owned and worn around the neck of every current sitting PLP member of parliament and all future candidates for a PLP seat in parliament.

Opposition leader Pintard and the entire leadership apparatus of the FNM party should be taking immediate appropriate steps to publicly announce their intent to fully repeal the two statutes for constitutional and national security reasons, not to mention the frightening impact of extremely high costs for electricity consumers, especially those deemed to be wealthier. This should be one of the first acts of Pintard and his cabinet if the FNM is successful in winning a controlling majority of seats in the next general election.

Snake and his local and foreign cronies were instrumental in the drafting of the new electricity and LNG statutes for their own self-gain which will come at a great cost to the Bahamian people. This most corrupt Davis led PLP government has paved the way for these greedy crooks to reap and enjoy the huge windfall profits they so eagerly await, while leaving the Bahamian taxpayers on the hook for all of BPL's existing debts amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars. Pintard needs to get off of his duff and make this unequivocally known to all concerned, especially Bahamian voters.

One of the most useless and most costly cabinet ministers the Bahamas has ever had. Hanna-Martin's primary focus has always been on putting as many unproductive voters in her constituency as possible on either the government's payroll or somehow sucking on government welfare programs of one kind or another.

can you just imagine her and others like her passing legislation that will allow them to determine which customers can and cannot afford to pay for the electricity they consume, with the government designated wealthier having to pay much higher electricity costs for the purpose of subsidizing the much lower electricity costs that would be billed to those designated less wealthy !!!!!!!
Meanwhile the foreign owned hotels, resorts and other developments will continue to get their generous electrical power concessions and government departments, agencies and SOE's will remain BPL's biggest delinquent debtors, to the tune of mega millions of dollars.
No sane Bahamian should ever vote for any PLP party candidate ever again. The party is no longer progressive ........ it is now a down right authoritarian communist regime!

If you vote time and time again for corrupt politicians to hold elected office, you obviously eventually end up with a lawless and impoverished country. All voters should never forget the adage: *You eventually reap what you have sown.*

If Pintard is successful in becoming our next PM, he really needs to make sure Boogie-Eyed Kwasi has absolutely **no** role to play in the ministry of finance. Pintard would be wise to court competent new blood for his government's ministry of finance. The same goes for the many other cabinet posts in a Pintard led government. If Pintard doesn't do so, he too will all too quickly become a "one-and-done" PM.

Not to mention the $200,000 plus that corrupt stumpy Davis forced taxpayers to spend on his new fully loaded and very plush BMW so that his already well padded tush is not made too uncomfortable while riding over the enormous potholes in our roads. This most corrupt PM meets every definition of crook and therefore detests transparency and has great disdain for any kind of government oversight by the people.
