As many know, there are ways to import your goods and run a successful business without the need to prove you're up to date in national insurance payments, VAT payments, business license fees, property tax, etc.
If I had to pay all of those taxes, fees, etc. for the government to squander, I wouldn't have a thriving business and 17 very happy employees.
And the family of the main Bahamian who was fronting the failed air space management service proposal you refer to cannot even properly run The Tribune tabloid. That really upset his mother. LOL
Latest scuttlebutt in DC is that SBF and his parents may have all along been CIA operatives seeking to ensnare the proceeds of major criminal enterprises finding an anonymous home in the crypto world of digital assets through the FTX exchange and its related investment vehicles. Apparently the U.S. Treasury Dept. was becoming increasingly concerned about the potentially destabilizing impact on the U.S. dollar of billions and billions of dollars of black market funds pouring into untraceable crypto assets. Small wonder SBF is walking around a free man in the U.S. with millions and millions of dollars of personal assets that have not been confiscated from him.
That point of going too far has already been reached for the vast majority of Bahamians and Bahamian owned businesses. The electrical power cost concessions given by successive governments to major hotel operators and other foreign owned or foreign leased properties have the Bahamian people and Bahamian owned businesses paying a disproportionate share of BPL's operating costs. Also, government departments, agencies, corporations, etc. are among some of the biggest delinquent debtors BPL has at this time.
