> “My biggest concern as a Freeporter is that we have sold our soul to the cruise ship industry,” he {Kirk Antoni} said. “Everywhere you go in the Bahamas now, cruise ships have an island or two. And pretty soon in Freeport, the way the talk is, we will probably have three. Celebration Key with Carnival, Xanadu Beach with RCL, and if the sip sip is true, we will have MSC; the new Grand Lucayan wants to knock down the Memories and turn into a water slide theme park.
>“So, you will have lot of cruise ship passengers roaming up and down the beaches, but guess where all the money goes right back to? The cruise ships. All we get is the passenger tax, which is about $40.”
Yup, Mr. Antoni is spot on correct.
Like their equally corrupt predecessors, both Chester the Jester and Stumpy Davis have been greatly enriched by the owners and operators of the cruise ships they have allowed to continue polluting our environment while contributing so very little to our domestic economy. Truly a sad state of affairs that has caused severe poverty to flourish throughout our country, but especially in Grand Bahama.
OMG! These are the same ChiComs who GAVE our planet the COVID epidemic funded with King Fauci's financial support through the US NHA and now they want to come to our country to TAKE our eye-sight or the eye-sight of one of our loved ones. Both Slo Mo Sears and Dim Wit Darville really need to have their own eyes fixed.
You sound like one of those lighter-skinned Bahamians who is always inclined to bring up the subject of racism because you're uncomfortable living in your own skin. If you do have discomfort from not being white enough or black enough, then perhaps you should seek some professional help.
You're clearly a meathead who's happy to have our corrupt ruling political elite pass more infuriatingly meaningless laws to fix a national mental health crisis that they themselves created in the first place. Just think about that the next time you are about to cast your vote for either the PLP or FNM candidate running for elected office in your constituency.
And pray tell, what happens to the poor property owner who is not possessed of the great wealth needed to tell Always Angry Simple Simon at Inland Revenue where he can just shove it?!
LMAO. Apparently even The Tribune's Chief Business Editor Neil Hartnell refused to associate his name with these most untruthful utterances by the very lame-brained Halkitis.
If the few remaining right minded and sensible Bahamians still living in the country do not soon take matters into their own hands and seize the reins of government one way or the other, all will be lost forevermore. That's the stark reality of the current situation.
The FNM and PLP parties are just two sides of the very same coin. Both of these political parties have been controlled for decades by a most corrupt ruling class of political elites who only care about satisfying their own personal greed and the greed of their corrupt cronies and financial-backers.
The Turkish real estate developer who controls the Miami-based Fort Capital Group is responsible for all that has been happening on Norman's Cay. And he just so happens to be a good friend of Vomit Christie, Vomit's son Steffan Christie, Stumpy Davis, Chester the Jester, Doofus Ryan Pinder and Pia Glover-Rolle, just to name a few who know all about what has been going on at Norman's Cay for a long time now.
The owners of businesses and their few hard working employees will of course have to pay for the many slackers as they have always done. After all, the lazy do nothing slackers need as much time off from real work as they can possibly get in order to focus all of their time and effort on becoming as big a person as Robert Farquharson is, and that's no easy task.
You would think Hubiggity by now would have accepted that he is an even more extinct political dinosaur than Tyrant Minnis.
I almost didn't bother to read the article when I saw his photo and suspect very few give him the time of day anymore. He, like Tyrant Minnis, just doesn't know it. LOL
