But it's true, ppl suffering being underpaid and no one gives two cents about increasing our minimum wage. It's not right when VAT has increased but not wages for Bahamians. 5.25 is the hourly minimum wage here compared to other developed countries. We can afford to increase taxes on less fortunate and not think about how they can survive off of this ridiculous tax system. Government should make it official to increase 5.25 to 7-9 an hour. How much Government make in an hour? $50-150?

If this had happened out west, you would have saw big trucks cleaning up that mess and building new stalls the next day but because the ppl working under the dock may seem less as a third class citizen, no response from Gov. This is how less fortunate Bahamians are treated.

I don't blame Bahamians for wanting a better life abroad that actually pay that kind of money for simple positions. We are rich but so poor because the government takes everything for themselves and caters to only the rich.

They only promise stuff to be elected but alot of Bahamians living under minimum wage barely able to take care of their families with 150-210 weekly and it is sickening, disgraceful and dishonest from PLP and FNM to allow that kind of treatment towards their own for years. Happy to increase VAT on products and services but fail to increase minimum wage.

It's very sad to see what PLP and FNM did to its own ppl for many years. I'm all about growth but how long will bahamians suffer under both regimes. When can we afford adorable homes without having 30yr mortgage hanging overhead because the average pay isn't enough to be paying back ridiculous loans to get a home. Taxi drivers can't even get plates for themselves after years of commitment. Ppl been on jobs still getting a low salary because Gov fail to increase ppl's wages when they decided to increase tax on the poor

Ridiculous tax increase, keep minimum wage at $5.25 an hr inspite the increase of taxes, promise affordable homes only to young professionals and not the rest, give public an uncertain vaccine to test out, lockdowns to fight crime and depend on tourism to tackle the unemployment rate.

Ppl still living hungry on the streets after Dorian, are they receiving any benefits of surviving? Thank God for those ppl who donated to the ppl of Abaco. The government is too busy raking in big paychecks from the poor.

Living under a greedy a** government who starve Bahamians from their given rights. The taxi drivers have been fighting for over 30yrs on obtaining their own taxi plates and yet most of them are being denied to own. I mean the taxi drivers who have committed their whole lives driving around tourists.

Ppl here still living below poverty while the Government lives lavishly from their big paychecks. They fail to increase minimum wage to $7-9 an hour. America is set to increase its minimum wage to $15 hr. Most Bahamians not returning home because they're getting paid way better with good benefits and more Bahamians leaving to make a better income to survive life for their families.
