So you are now going to play the race card and blame 'foreigners'??
"Those who we welcome into our nation must understand they are not to bend or break as was said in the past, but they must understand they are to straighten up and fly right"
Yeah - it's their fault?? Look at what was there pre-HCA and then at the peak of Freeport ... and now.
I think the government has no idea what to do ... because it has been neglected and interfered with for so long ... that they are now going to pull the 'blame the foreigner' game.
The hca ...in it's time ... was revolutionary and game changing. The government has encroached on it...with no long term plan ...and messed it up. The concept is still valid. The 'families' are a basket case and spoiled from the easy life they were given/born to. No debating that. They are the wrong set of 'key holders'. BUT the concept of the HCA is viable.
The company is NOT a start up ... they are an established large company that is opening an office in Freeport. They should be given government contracts as there are few competitors in the market (Freeport OR Nassua).
GB has far fewer power issues than NP/Nassau. This is a technology company ... therefore they use surge protection and UPS technology. Power supply is NOT an issue - cost is another issue.
I am not sure that the 'technology hub' vision will come to fruition BUT encourage companies to locate here due to the favorable climate and lifestyle that it affords.
The funny thing is many people here actually CARE about the Bahamas and the people and DON'T want to make it political. Then there's BIRDIE the PLP spokesperson but hidden behind a keyboard...
