Loretta had problems everywhere she went. Montague, as one pointer posted out above, is one of the safest FNM seats in Nassau besides St. Anne's, and the people there got very tired of here shtick by the time 2012 rolled around. Same thing with Long Island, they were ready to give her the boot by 2017.
For all of his faults, Minnis is still a far better leader (which isn't saying much) than Loretta would have been. The fact that she even launched that little coup attempt in the House while she had little support in the party ranks speaks volumes to her lack of political acumen. Despite what some posters here may suggest, we can very easily end up with a worse PM than Minnis.
Good. The Pindling name is a disgrace to this country, associated with the Escobars and drug trafficking worldwide. Pindling was the worst thing to ever happen to this country, and not enough Bahamians realize how.
Whether was the lack of economic development, the rampant and out of control crime/fatherless homes caused by the drugs he brought into Bahamian society, or the destruction that he wrought from Bahamianization during his terms, our nation would have been much better off never having him as Prime Minister. All of the problems that we face as a country today go all the way back to the horrible effects that his time in government brought on us as a country.
Lol. As illustrated in the comments below, there is a much greater chance of Hell freezing over than a white man becoming Prime Minister. Bahamians would much rather become Haiti 2.0 before letting someone who could actually fix this country's problems give a go at it.
54 years later and the ghost of the UBP haunts the minds of people that weren't even alive during that era lol.
No, that is my point. A woman PM, or more women in government in general, aren't going to magically make things any better. As a matter of fact, I would bet that government inefficiency would only increase and we would get even less done (if that were even possible). Personally, I believe that Bahamians like to follow American foolishness far too much. We have a crumbling economy, dilapidated and obsolete infrastructure, an oncoming financial crisis with regards to debt that it out of control, and so many other difficult decisions, yet we are supposed to worry about how many women are in government lol. This place is truly a clown show.
With all of the anti-male propaganda that has been pushed in the media lately though, my joke was that the black men will soon be the new scapegoat for all of the Bahamian problems. Seen enough social media posts (yeah, I know) indicating as such. Pretty sure that Freddy or Brave will still find some way to blame the UBP in the upcoming campaign though....
Meyers must have the patience of Job to keep releasing these statements.
No government really cares, they just want to collect more tax money to pad their pockets with from the Treasury. Still waiting on duties to be removed all these years after VAT has been implemented (and raised, I might add).
We don't need any more Prime Ministers at all. Man or woman, the odds are that they will likely possess an IQ below room temperature, with the morals/integrity of a crooked attorney. I say that we forget about having a government, and just go back to the Queen at this point.
As an aside, it is nice to see that the old beaten horse of blaming white people/the UBP for everything wrong with the country is finally dying out. The black Bahamian men are finally going to understand what it has felt like all of these years lol.

Don't worry, Bahamian politicians are rapidly trying to think up a way that they can triple or quadruple dip as well.

Picewell only won his elections via pluralities. More people voted against him than for him both times. His shares of votes below.
2017 : 46%
2012 : 38.98%
Wouldn't be that surprised if he was a bit unpopular.
