Your words were very interesting, and very true to life. I have been you before, and have been that friend of yours. With some little differences to the story. I was always aware of the fact that the women that I called friends, the ones that were close, not long distance, did not return the action of friendship that I did. Surprisingly to me, I did some of that also, to the persons that truly appreciated my friendship. In the bible it says, ' a man having friends must show himself friendly.' I was given that treatment, but once or twice, being a private person by nature that I am, I did not give it back. Now I know better. I don't have a best friend or even a close one, but i'm good with that, I have Jesus, and I am wiser now. Through it all I have learned, and I know that the bottom line in a friendship, is loyalty. And even if it is just a hello every now and then or every few weeks, months or years, I should be thankful that that special person has thought of me.

Just be careful Dr. Minnis. Do not think only with the heart. Some people may not like me for saying that but I'm a Bahamian who have traveled plenty, and I've seen that kind of thinking hurt more than one country. Be smart. This may be a good decision for women, or one that can hurt us all and what we are. Our women should be treated fairly, but in matters of anything that is out of the country, be very careful. The name of the family is carried on from men, so I have a bad feeling about the idea of automatic citizenship, but I hope for the best. Just trod carefully, and even if tweaked, do not forsake the constitution. I am not giving men more rights than women. Never. But there are some things that women can be taken advantage of for, but men cant. That is my concern. I've twice seen foreign men married a woman, impregnate her, to gain something from the country she was from. Usually land or citizenship. It had nothing to do with love and it was sad for the women. If a woman is fine by it then, it's okay, but if we have laws that help to protect women, we should be careful when dealing with these kinds of things. It's not a very nice world out there and we must protect our women even if abroad. Also with thinking about the children, maybe doing something just for these in their situation. Maybe something could have been put in place for the children, whom we love too. Do not think about being favored when it comes to doing the right thing for the country. Because the right thing is rarely ever liked. This is just my opinion and I just hope that this was the right thing to do.

Minister Dr Hubert Minnis must know something and know it well. We the people, at least I, expect patriotism and good government to come from his office. We want to see hard work. Not politicians who do nothing. We want you to improve this country. The world is sick of politicians and are now realizing that they do not work. Just get paid. This is changing all around the world, and the Bahamian people are realizing it to. You men are in the office, but though we have a great country thank God, we want a better country from you. We want more opportunities and a better economy. Give it to us. When we have this, we wont care about your pay raise.

This situation has a lot to do with the break down of the family in this country. It also has to do with the taking in of some young people from other countries, that are troubled. The Bahamas used to be a nation of strong families. Now, there are too many children by one man and multiple women, and children being born to teenagers. Some of these teenagers were taken advantage of by older Bahamian men because they come from a poor home and were needy. I've seen this with my own eyes. However, there is hope for our youths. Hope that will require a little investment by the government but it will pay off in the future. We need to put a program in the schools that teaches about family value, the family structure, social and community skills. From primary school. A subject that will help young minds to know the right way and help our youths to make right decisions later. They will learn the way that the home is supposed to be and social skills for outside of the home. They will learn it from this school subject that is in every grade, and this may help to keep them from becoming young criminals, because they have an idea of how to be a real man. The young women will also gain from this. They will know how to be a lady, and to seek help in other ways than of a sexual nature. This being, also we should have a strong program that youths can come to for help. We need more things like the Girl Brigade and the Boys Brigade, and have people go to the houses and encourage the girls and boys to join, from six years up. Many will. It will give them pride to. In the meanwhile, am afraid we have to have tougher laws on crime, and that includes with young criminals. This school idea is a future thing, but I believe that a workshop with a second chance idea can help the youths that are now, who are having the trouble mentioned above. If they attend it, it will help employers to believe in them. It will be the youth's choice. My point is, there are a lot of children, but the family structure and parenting that teaches properness have gone down. Howbeit, with God's help, we can help the future.

It says to Amend. Definition of Amend: "To make changes, update." Well, I don't know about all of that. I do know that this used to be a country that wanted people that provided jobs for Bahamians and could contribute to the country in a positive way, to come in. Now we have people who compete with us for work, and bring their own culture. I know that we used to be a prideful nation. Many of these people have no desire to be like us. This is not being prejudice or racist. We are a loving people and we care about other people, but we must be smart. We cannot afford not to be smart. I am not ashamed of Jesus, or of being a patriot of this country. Bahamians first, as it should be in any country of their people. This new government has a chance to make us a great island nation again, I hope they do it and are thinking about that when they are 'amending' things. If Fred Mitchell has something to say that can help us as a nation, then I am willing to hear him. I am willing to hear anyone who loves this country. If he is not trying to help, then shame on him. Also we must think about ISIS that is infiltrating countries through people coming in. So government must be thinking about everything when 'amending', though it may seem mean. That is my point. We must do the right thing for the country, even it has to do with women who have children abroad, and pay attention to our constitution while doing it. We must be careful. I have seen what change can do to a country, and it's not always pretty in the end.
