Canada and other civilized countries, hate the crime. not the criminal.

You need not question any longer where, and why, our people are drawn towards vengeance and retaliation, that is, lawlessness. They all can see it exemplified in their leaders from Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis and down.

If the Prime Minister sees this situation as a fit one to pursue to "the bounds of hell" in order to satisfy his want for reprisal and 'justice', why shouldn't the people (citizens) do so also who ought to be looking to him for the attitude of response forthcoming from leadership.

'Lead Leader... lead' goes the cry. And to vengeance, rather than justice and solutions, we will follow to our own damnation.

A leader can only lead the people as far as he himself as gone. How shallow this must be? In this case, Dr. Minnis and the like, are driven towards vengeance!!!!!

A watershed moment to lead by example is, once again, lost.

No regulatory regime to enforce road safety codes and law... Have you'll ever taken a look and counted the amount of jet-ski mounted on a trailer being pulled by one (1) truck???

Godson says...

Tell_it_like_it_is, you have made the most sensible and insightful comment in this whole discussion. Regulatory enforcement is needed on the ground. I stated this to the Prime Minister when he was here in Long Island to present his governments' take on the reason to increase in VAT.

The question that comes to my mind is 'what now happens to the former Commissioner of Police who has been cutely rewarded with the post of High Commissioner to the United Kingdom?'.

Was his conduct in Office so honorable as to be chosen to represent The Bahamas as such?????

Yes Bahamas... you continue to reward 'bad' and chastise 'good'.

Frederick McAlpine went to and graduated from Freeport High. Not Catholic High!

Godson says...

Where was this outcry when such crimes was done to the two (2) orphaned girls in Freeport, Grand Bahama??? They were sexually assaulted by a member of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, a Police Sargeant.

Where was Sandra Dean-Paterson and the Crisis Center in that matter? What... on account that the culprit the then Deputy Prime Ministers' son, cat got hold of your tongue back then??? What is so distinctive about this case? And what about the rest of you'll who now want to show yourself as being so concerned.

I still have a copy of the Court of Appeal ruling in that matter. From a Christian perspective... it is the orphan and widows who the LORD is for us to protect. We have failed in this area of civil protection. stop pretending bahamas.

Those girls were emotionally hurt and never got justice so as to be able to reconcile their conscience with the need to be a patriotic Bahamian...

Why weren't you all as sensitive to the plight of the two (2) girls that was sexually assaulted by Mother Pratt's son, the police sergeant???

It appears that the interest of 'the powers that be' are only moved to heighten the public awareness base upon the social class of the victim in comparison to the assailants'/culprits'.

Justice Blackman, of the Court of Appeal, in his judgment detailed at the length the compromise that was done on behalf of Sergeant Pratt by the authorities to stifle hone the course of justice. Sad, sad... any wonder it repeats itself?

I will always speak up for justice on behalf of those two (2) orphaned children (now adults).

So principled and well stated. Sobering thinking brings rational outlooks that aligns with the truth; however, the truth is often not easily acceptable. But well drawn back and thought of caution to all of us. Thank you.

This article was meant to be about the remarks from the Independent candidate for Long Island towards our former Prime Minister 'a retired politician'; consequently, we ought to be pointing out the meaningful, or otherwise, outcome that such a choice proposed to have on Long Island. It can only be to the strengthening of Long Island. No one can contradict this... why? because it is truthful facts.

Hence, that is exactly why I am encouraging the Long Islanders to vote for their Independent Candidate, Loretta Butler-Turner.

After the Bahamas' 1967 election, there was only two (2) important and relevant personalities in Bahamian politics. And, neither one of them, at the time, belonged to the PLP nor the UBP... That's right... they were independent candidates: Fawkes & Brennen.
The other contested seats were restrained because they are being contested by the two parties' political agendas that was already been decided by either the parties' constitution, rather, the political elite.

when people are able to class you, that is, to put you in a category... then they can cancel you - you no longer count!

Only Long Island has political leverage now on both major political parties because it has the only Independent Candidate with political fervor. And, it is only Long Island which is now poised in this unique position to lead the front line in reshaping and reforming the political landscape as to what ought to become representation in Bahamian politics going into the future.

Neither party wants to bring this to the attention of the Long Island electorate. They want to keep Long Islanders in the dark and sneak onto these good people uncertainty. Long Islanders have a real and divine destiny.

Say No to their insults Long Islanders! Not because someone, or a party, addresses you as a horse of a different color ( a donkey), it don't mean you have to respond to them as if what they perceive you as is true.

Say NO to the FNM... Say No to the PLP (this one should not be too hard). Tell them, "wrong address"!!! Tell them, "No Thank but you got the wrong address".

vote for your independent candidate and assure your place in the political history of the bahamas. vote for loretta butler-turner.

god bless long islanders & god bless our bahamas.
