I suggest we ship Mr. Bowe out to Cuba, there are many jobs for him to fill in a state controlled economy. Last time I checked, the Bahamas was a proponent of a free market economy (well at least we try - or claim we try).
exactly. it will keep Mr.The Price is Right busy though with chicken shit, swamps his desk with "too much work" to go after the big, government controlled scams, smoke screen, opium for the people, give them cents and keep the dollars.
in the ages of VOD, who cares if the theatre is pricing itself out of the market? If you want used chewing gum on your shoes and ketchup on your jeans you go to the theater here. So this market is quite competitive and we should not worry about chicken shit like that. I would love to see that Mr. -The-Price-is-Right breaks up the big scams in the Bahamas, such as the gas price cartel.
not being a fan of PGC (not a fan of any politician in the Bahamas actually), he seems to have had a lucidum intervallum. To take away the good from his speech, he said that anybody that is suitable to lead a party should lead a party, which is more of a qualification of the persons he has not mentioned to be leading the party than anything else and - disclaimer - does not per se define what qualifications a suitable person to lead a party in the Bahamas should have. Having this said, the only wish I have is that they are not corrupt. Greedy is ok for now, but not corrupt.
that may be a job for one of the newly appointed practicing QCs, so the title comes with a bonus from the Government. How in the world would the pilots be able to pay this? On the other side, I am quite a fan of creating a precedent through a court case as this may be applied to many other ongoing situations in the Bahamas.
another cesspool and another factor that stifles the economic development of this country. we can look pretty all day long. It does not create a single job.
yes, but there are many people that cant leave - because they were not allowed a decent education and work in jobs that don't allow them to give their kids a decent education. If we want to be part of the 2nd or 1st world, we have to be able to get everybody to read and write and use a computer, so we have all the knowledge to make up our minds and decisions what is right and what is wrong, rather than sheepishly being herded around by some self proclaimed and subsequently elected (non knowledgeable and clueless) saviors' of the Nation. Too many are selling their votes literally for a bucket of fried chicken. The Gold Rush is still going on, just in a different format, and many Bahamians are paying the price for the benefit of a few Bahamians. It has nothing to do with foreigners or other countries, this beautiful Nation needs to teach its citizens that "it is about us before it is about me". Then things will finally change.
Seems to me that Bahamas is one of the few places left on the planet, other than North Korea, China etc. where the police only gets active when a political decision to probe or not to probe is being made. Corruption is an offense ex officio, no one really has to call the police to say "do it". But the reaction of the police shows how far the web of corruption in this country reaches. We have all he laws we need to put an end to corruption. so just do it.
