why do people go to the press with all this? most of the initiatives are either ill minded, not thought through, dead on arrival, underfunded etc. seems as long as someone can announce that this or that would have created jobs in the Bahamas it is justifiable to have their brain farts printed? please spare us.

Religious groups are great. They can come here and worship the members of the Cabinet and make financial donations, at night some voodoo at the Haitian refugee camp, and on the way out they can get ripped off by the members of the Christian coalition while enjoying cheap booze and smuggled Cuban cigars.

It actually may decrease investments in the Bahamas. Not from US investors necessarily but from investors from other nations.

To gamble with the kids lunch money and school uniform money is "unchristian" (to use this trendy word), Mr. PM, particularly if the gains go to the wrong pockets. This is effectively crowd funding benefitting people that decided not to adhere to the rule of law.

Not that the National Lottery fund would be safe from greedy politicians' hands, but it would be owned by the people and can be spend by the people for the people and it can be monitored and administered by honorable persons outside the government. Web shops create a parallel economy that increases dependencies and misery of middle class and lower economic classes. There is no dream to dream for a webshop gambler.

of course. it is easier to put a tax lien on all the properties in arrears that takes priority over all other lenders, believe me the mortgaging banks will the take care of the issue... and then auction of the tax lien if not paid within 6 month....

the lack of literacy in this country is not a political issue it is an elitist issue. this country is run by two handful of persons. and they want to keep it that way. nothing to do with PLP, or FNM, really.
