So not in line with Mr. Pinder's remark that the level of VAT will depend on tax revenue from money houses. Wont happen before Jul 1. I mean nothing will happen before Jul 1.
So Government pulled another rabbit out of the hat, shortly before WTO rules kick in. No submissions, no transparency, even screwing its own business community.
Maybe PM can use some of the funds of his pension plan being filled by all the leading business men of the country and the JVs with foreign companies to help out the Bahamalanders that are a dime or two short.
ha, if someone does not pay the mortgage repossession will occur. what is so earthshattering about that? This is a matter of contractual law.
The point is more that Mr. L. has clearly shown total lack of willingness and intent to pay the taxes. As I understand when he decided to become delinquent on this taxes, he was employed and must have made good money (pre-2008) and his friends were in charge. So he intentionally and willingly cheated on his taxes. This is a matter of criminal law. If you want criminals to continue to rule the country, go on and hang the Pirate Flag on top of the Bahamas one.
I hope the committee will not primarily seek reparations but will seize the opportunity to start a discussion in the Bahamas about its past and history. As bahamianpride said, its all about self respect. We need to have self respect and be proud of our country and our heritage - open eyed. This will change the Bahamas, there will be a goal to works toward together that has not money attached to it. Mutual respect, tolerance, conserving our environment, paying our taxes, stop the corruption and educate our children.
No one has to agree with anybody. Reality is that we all belong to some minority. So who cares. All that needs to be taught (and lived) is acceptance and respect, then LGBT is not an issue, nothing is.
besides that I doubt that the Government has the capacity to conduct such toxicity tests. Keep pushing papers. And maybe parts of the Cabinet have an economic interests in the fire going on, it will increase public support for their waste to energy plans and their personal pension planning.
