I find it interesting how Miller abuses Joyelle's funeral for short term political gain. I can neither emotionally nor intellectually understand, that with what happened to the Miller family a few years ago, and with Miller being outspoken Citizen and MP, he has not been trying to effect real change in the Bahamas. He is not sincere, he works on a basis of personal vendetttas, and just loves to drop a hand grenade here and there to stay relevant in the news. His real relevance has faded a long time ago, he is wasting his talents being angry rather than pushing for real change in the Bahamas. he clearly has the potential to do so, but seems to allow his own little personal issues take the better of him.
What is intellectually offending by the statement made by Wayne Munroe, QC, is that he did not apologize for having it made. Made and said clearly with the intend to be incendiary. another Trump out there. Now a Bahamian one.
we need the Fred Smiths because we have the Wayne Munroes. In the best worlds we would need neither of them. It is ok to have strict laws, that are enforced, sent them back home, if needed, but immigrants, migrants, refugees, foreigners, are to be treated with respect and dignity. The issue is simply that our government is so incoherent and corrupt, the actors not held responsible and accountable, and the Ministers in for the title and the financial rewards and not the work, that cheap populism is the only way for them to disguise there failure to lead this country in all matters incl. immigration.
this does not affect the Canadian banks really other than that they have to put up disproportional additional capital because of the high level of non performing loans and operational risks in the Bahamas compared to other jurisdictions. It will be definitely another nail in the coffin of BOB though. But then after Cuba changed and Venezuela changed, we are the last Country in the region that nationalizes business. so nothing to worry about other than the increase in VAT.
how about flogging lawyers? or people that don't pay the property tax? or people that induced BOB to give them overinflated loans? politicians? aggressive drivers? drug users? gun owners? HIV positive people? artists? person with last names starting with a "S"? journalists? educated people? your neighbor?

seems the PM packed all his prospective buyers of Baha Mar into a Hot Air balloon and flew with it to Paris.
