The Bahamian people have already lost with this corrupt incompetent Government. The previous Government was fortunately less corrupt but seems to have been incompetent as well in hindsight. So whats your point. If you make a fish swim outside the water, the fish is not a good swimmer. If a "management team" can get a colossus like Baha mar up in literally NO time they way they did, particularly in an political and economical environment like the Bahamas with close to zero local resources, is not incompetent - they are very much capable. Are they perfect? No. Should a colossus like Baha Mar ever have been built? NO. the big mistake is not the execution (or partial lack thereof), it is that Baha Mar was allowed to happen in the first place.

wow, birdie, makes sense - for once. Although I am a little concerned that you have limited your options by shutting the DNA out, and having it made reasonably clear in the past that you are not FNM. Are you PLP now?

GrassRoot says...

yes, although I have to add, that I feel intellectually offended by the notion uttered by Bran, that the PMs impartiality may be compromised. There was never impartiality and the fact that the PM wants to "mediate" shows that the PM damn well knows that he is not impartial and by being the mediator, he thinks he can control the process. The only issue is that if you are a hen, you cant out"fox" the foxes around you. PM will have more egg in his face soon. CCA and Izzie, both are shrewd players.

GrassRoot says...

oh yes. Bran publicly shitted himself beyond embarrassment when he made that statement about Izzie. Seems he had either a stroke too before he said that, or is definitely brainless, welcome to the club: he qualifies now for higher office. Looks like another lap dog in the making here.

Well done! Shaunae for PM!!! She has proven that we can be world class, so yes we have Bahamians that can and do. How come that the ones that can and do, don't talk all day to the media? And the ones that cant and don't, do speak to the media all day? Thank you Shaunae, you made our day.

By hiring Deloitte with money they dont have (anymore) they try to prove that they did not make the money that they claimed they would, with the money they were given by The People.

Next round: it will be a shitty outcome for the government.
Next round: The Government will hire another firm that knows the desired outcome and is willing to act as a qualified (and expensive) typewriter/ghostwriter to issue a new report.
Next round: The Auditor General will make a report in two years that will be scathing.
Next round: The report will not be tabled and presented in the House of Parliament because of the Speakers personal conviction after being briefed by the office of Madame AG.

Comprende? And in the meantime Mr P. Major and his grabsters will stay on the expense account of The People.

Good night again Bahamas.Another lost opportunity, a few more cronies with more $$$ in their bank accounts.

Yes makes me wonder if they had done anything similar, if the cca/exim mobster gang grabbed the land(and they may still will). What no one writes here about is, that the bankruptcy filing has generated more activity and energy to finish Baha Mar over the past two weeks than over the past 8 months together. So I say to all of you who claim the bankruptcy filing was wrong (Our National-disappointment Bran the muddler, Mitchell, Snake Wilson, PM and the whole poltical mafia): you got burnt, baby!! Izzie is always a step ahead, as all he wants is Baha Mar to become operational asap. To the PM and his advisors: Combining the brain power of NOT like minded, will do nothing to improve our lives here in the Bahamas. The doers will change the country, the talkers wont.

On Crown land move was a precaution

I get the impression that here in the Bahamas, all has to be big to be good. Big power generation, big hotels, big projects. In reality it should be the opposite. It has been proven ad nauseam in many other national economies that the only job creators are the small and medium size enterprises (SME). The food stand at the corner, the courier service, the web design shop, the print shop. Its hard work, life is hard. The resources used to build a colossus such as Baha Mar could generate 5x more jobs, if the money were invested in SME. 30 to 50 small hotels in Nassau and the out island would generate and contribute more to the GNP with all the rippling effects than building a white elephant and beyond that is more sustainable and manageable by local talent and requires less foreign workers from construction to management. But no, all has to be grandiose here. This is a typical 3rd world mentality and unless we change our approach fundamentally, the situation will not change. Unfortunately there is a huge time lag for the positive effects to kick in, once the policy changed. I agree with Banker, I am not sure whether the Bahamian economy has the power to overcome such a gap. But all this can start, if we come off the high horse and start doing what s doable, not what we may thing is desireable. First we need to start learning to walk before we try to run.

well its the old island mentality: whoever came here after us, will leave before us. It is the whole PLP propaganda machinery that is in full swing.

Maybe PM should have invited Bran, as Bran changed sides and is now part of the bootlicker group too.
