All this just shows how dysfunctional our political system has become. The winner controls the whole political and judicial system, AG, can shot down the control mechanisms, the GG, suggest lawyers for QCs etc. The Westminster like system does not work in the Bahamas, does not work in a corrupt environment. I believe there are great minds in both parties and great minds outside the two parties and great minds that are not politically organized. There should be a push for a new approach. We all know that the political system absorbs and destroys talent and energy, look at what happened to Dr. Rollins. All this energy should be bundled by a better political system to generate progress in our country. I believe that the AG should be elected in public elections two years into the legislative period to avoid that the AG becomes an appendix of the government. The PAC must be a non-political body, very technical. I am not a constitutional specialist, but I believe there are a few twists that will help making the whole system more efficient. This process must be started by the old men in politics, lets face it, PGC and Papa have gotten it all, money, fame, power through their political involvement. How about getting a legacy that they both together changed the Bahamian political system for the benefit of the people.

I love that the first thing they do is a subsidy of wages for KIDS that get a shot to go through an apprentiship. Everyone gets a trophy, right? How about being happy that a KID gets an apprentiship? And I am convinced only the smartest and bestest kids get into the program, as long as their parents wear the right colors.

More money for the "Bread for Brother Allen Foundation". Time for a new hat Mo'er Pratt.

THAT is good news.

I love that: we will soon have another Emperor. Ready for the Battle of the Giants?

"former Deputy Prime Minister Frank Watson said he does not believe that Hubert Ingraham plans to leave retirement " - what a statement to waste ink and paper. Did anybody bother to call Mr. Ingraham and ask or confirm? Or is Frank Watson his official communications manager?

Banker, it does not matter really. The average Bahamian can neither read nor do math, courtesy our failed Government policies over the past 40 years. The reality is that the real wealth killers in this country are not contained and nothing is being done to do so: 1. public pension obligations, 2. health care cost, 3. poor education. @1. staff needs to be cut, entitlements to be defined, contributions by staff adjusted. @2. The NHI is not working - unemployed people have no money have poor health and all the time of the day to go to see the doctor. The cost of each single doctor visit, medication etc. is not getting reduced by introducing NHI. @3. When in the world is the Government asking China and the Bond Markets to give them money to invest in the school system? This is the only chance for the Bahamians to ever level with development nations on average salary etc. If you keep taxing the ones that have money, but you don't make sure that the ones that don't have money, will ever get money, you are killing the goose that lays the eggs.
