birdie, what is cold hearted is that Ms. Pratt and her team, let this happen and poor Bahamians being cheated out of their house being fixed. And now that they got caught not having been vigilant and let this slip, want to raise hell. Typical reaction of typical Bahamian cronies.

GrassRoot says...

of course they have not stolen the money. but the allowed other people to steal the money and it was their job that this would not happen. so they failed. plain and simple.

GrassRoot says...

on what planet does Pratt live? whats unfair about telling the people that constructions companies have stolen money and the officials in charge did not control?

Sorry my friend DreamerX, I am having an honest moment. here we have a man that has know how, knowledge and is educated in the trade he is doing. and he gets f***d over his views? our islands are too small, the talent pool to restricted to play these games. A good man is a good man, irrespective of his views. Now do me and yourself a favor DreamerX, write to Perry G. and tell him this is wrong. We need every hard working Bahamian and Bahamian-Haitian that brings our country forward to be given a chance to redeem himself. F*** politics. I love people that have a trade and are proud of it. we love the Bahamas. and all the people that work hard. for us, our children, our beautiful country. That is what matters.

don't we love how our government awards contracts?

I go back to my comment posted on other threads, the issue really is that in the Bahamas the AG's office is a political office and the AG is effectively the PM's lapdog. I suggest the AG should be elected by the people at a time other than when general elections are being held. This is a way how to get extra checks and balances in place. So the recommendations by several international bodies made recently, should really be considered. We will have a better government, more accountability with a system like that.

Some of the participants in the thread are reflecting a bigger issue: the lack of vision. Ideas and vision, as crazy at it may sounds, lead at the end of the day to practicable solutions. Decentralized energy production or centralized energy production with efficient distribution to all the islands is the KEY issue, Irrespective of what technology you deploy (incl. but not limited to solar wind etc. I am convinced that Mr. Miller has looked at many of these crazy ideas, but unfortunately he is a homo politicus, a man that puts his political survival over the right thing that has to be done. If you believe an LPG plant is less crazy than an underwater cable, think twice.
