John, are you a canine behavioralist? "Insufficient Evidence" is a sad statement to share with the International Community who has seen the self recorded and internet posted "Evidence"
That's unfortunately true John, so hopefully if that comes to pass and pleas to vindicate the dog to attempt rehabilitation fall short, the owner will be held accountable for that loss of life as well. As for the Chinese buying cats....please file your complaint with Police Authority to investigate and prosecute....or, place your next food order at that establishment....
It's true Econo.....Trib reporting about this Horse's case is with no doubt falling short of the obvious that is seen daily without publication nor prosecution of the offenders. Legislation (albeit antiquated) to protect these Horses nor Legislation enacted in the Amimal Protection and Control Act is not inforced.
Please dig deeper and don't let the Cabs Board off the hook with comments like "the horse fell over unexpectedly, was attended to, assisted to its feet and was able to walk away". Mrs Aranha's comments are diplomatic and not the least bit reflective of the angst and anti Surrey Horse/Cabs Board sentiment in the Animal Welfare community.
While Dr. Isaacs tells you that the current legislation is outdated and needs to be amended, I assert that the current legislation, including the Animal Protection and Control Act are not being enforced.
Look at this horse......any moron can see that it's malnourished!
"our body condition is 2 to 2.5 out of 5". Assuming that on a scale of 0 to 5, that 0 is Dead and 5 is Healthy (since one cannot be healthier than healthy), what terms can be applied that would quantify the Health of a horse that passes with a 2 or 2.5? Half Healthy? Marginal? Who is actually following up on cases where a horse is "taken off the road"? To say that it happens in a news article does not mean that it actually does. Lip Service......Ban Surrey Horses in the Bahamas.....
