There's nothing for the FNM to say. The Bahamas is now officially a corrupt dictatorship on the brink of financial disaster.

As with all dictatorships, democracy is redundant, so the FNM is redundant. Dictators don't allow opposers any say.

If the Government hadn't taken so much in bribes from the Chinese, and let the Chapter 11 stand, work would already be underway on finishing the job.

Izmiralian saw the Government's plan and made the smartest move available with the filing.

The PLP had already been paid to ensure the Chinese got the end product, sadly.

HarryWyckoff says...

We are about to see a mass exodus of foreigners, both businesses and individuals, from The Bahamas.

This government has officially destroyed any chance of this country amounting to anything in the eyes of the world, but at least they will have what they wanted - the Bahamas for Bahamians (and Chinese, of course - lots and lots of Chinese)

No foreign entity will ever invest here again, after seeing the government bow so low to China's wishes. The US, who are in constant conflict with China, will disown the place.

You're all on your own now. I hope you all have a backup plan for when the Financial Services industry evaporates as foreign banks leave en mass, and tourism is restricted to visitors from socialist/communist countries.

You're gonna need it.

Hey Tribune... you REALLY need to step up your game.

"Breaking News" means it's happening NOW, not yesterday!!

Little Birdie....

One of these men is a businessman, facing the loss of billions of dollars of investment and years of hard work.

The other is (allegedly) a world leader, supposedly above this kind of stuff.

I guess when the communist Chinese you have sided with have paid your corrupt a$$ millions to give them what they want, you get a bit panicky when it looks like it may not work out the way you'd hoped.

Why exactly IS PGC selling major Bahamian developments to a communist country anyway?

HarryWyckoff says...

He's getting desperate.

He received a LOT of money from the Chinese to take their side and help them squeeze our Sarkis so the Chinese can claim the development as fully owned by the communist country of China.

But Sarkis isn't going down without a fight, and PGC is running scared.

Why do they need to meet in China?

Bahamar is a US registered company. CCA is a US registered company. The development itself is in the Bahamas.

Simms clearly just wants a free vacation.

I hope more than anything Christie doesn't continue down this path. The LAST thing this country needs is for the Chinese to own one of the largest developments in the country. Pretty sure Christie is being personally paid a shit ton of money by the Chinese to make sure Izmirilian is squeezed out.

HarryWyckoff says...

> Prime Minister Perry Christie said the incident posed enormous national security implications for the country when announcing the attack to parliamentarians last Wednesday.

I still don't get this.

The websites in question aren't even vaguely connected to this country, yet alon the government infrastructure. Both are hosted with a mass hosting service in the US.

The target wasn't these sites, the target was the security of the servers the US hosting company used. Both sites just happened to be hosted by the same non-Bahamian company.

This is *such* a non-event in terms of The Bahamas and our national security, i truly don't understand why it's being made such a big issue.

I suppose it's something the PLP can use to deflect off of serious issues **yet again**.

HarryWyckoff says...

Trash management wouldn't be needed if 90% of Bahamian beach goers weren't filthy animals who left their used diapers, condoms, bottles and food containers wherever their lazy a$$es dropped them.

Nowhere else in the world does the population treat their own lands with the disgusting lack of concern shown by Bahamians. I often wonder if their homes are carpeted in trash or if they only treat their very own beaches this way.

"Bahamian Pride" at it's finest.

So... The foreign developer is saying "We don't give a crap about the laws in your little country"

And the government is saying "Lol! I know, right! We don't even give a crap about the people we're sworn to serve, so the law... Yeah, screw that! As long as we're all getting rich, who cares! Amiright?"
