Alfred Gray and the awarding of this contract sums up everything that is wrong with the Bahamian political system. There is no hope for the country while this mindset prevails.

What depressing reading especially the fact that:

"the detection rate for murders in 2015 is relatively low when compared to other years due to intimidation of witnesses by murder accused who are granted bail".

It really takes a brave person to agree to be a witness in a murder trial in The Bahamas.

The justice system is failing Bahamians and neither of the major parties has any clue as to what to do about it.

Excellent letter from JADE and accurately reflects the feelings of many potential FNM voters. Minnis needs to decide NOW whether he is a patriot or just another power hungry politician. If he is the former he will volunteer to step down in place of a stronger party leader.

"When contacted by The Tribune yesterday, Free National Movement (FNM) Chairman Michael Pintard said the government should inform the public of the reasons for Mr Christie’s trip"

Good question. I wonder what other business the band of brothers and sisters could have in Switzerland? Just wondering.

That's a spot on prediction Emac. The PLP are so transparent to those of us that have a brain.

Sadly, the DNA is more of a one man show than a party. Branville will prove to be nothing more than a distraction unless he can encourage some big hitters to join him. If it was going to happen it would have happened by now in my opinion.

Can the Minister confirm the number of tourists who actually bought tickets for last year's event? I'll wager it wasn't more than 500.

Why don't we just invite all the armed hoodlums in New Providence to a "Last Man Standing" event at the Sports Stadium? Allow them to arm themselves to the teeth and we can even throw in some of the hand grenades recently acquired by the government. At the end of a one hour free for all, the last man standing can have his ankle bracelet removed as a reward for a job well done and get his portrait hung in the airport's hall of fame.

"Mr Wilchcombe has said this year’s festival would be more structured, better budgeted and constructed in such a way to guarantee a solid return on investment."

It will guarantee a solid return for family and friends of the governing party but not for the country as a whole. Complete waste of time. Remind me to be off island May 5 - 7.

The FNM needs to rebrand and just call itself "PLP Lite". The country needs a vibrant new party with a new vision for the country and a new and trustworthy leader. It seems that the FNM is not really serious about becoming a governing party. The FNM appears to be in complete disarray at a time when the country is crying out for a clear headed and self assured opposition party. Meanwhile over at "Incompetence HQ" the blundering PLP continues to get a free ride whilst stockpiling tanks and grenades just in case they are needed!!!
