I agree with everything you say Abaconian. I think there are many Bahamians who don't appreciate just how precarious a position we are in. This government has taken us to the vey edge of the precipice and without clear heads, our economy could end up crashing to the ground. NHI could well be the tipping point. If folks think things are bad now then they need to understand just how much worse it will be once The Bahamas can no longer afford to peg the Bahamian Dollar to the US dollar. This however is the scenario we are facing if the PLP tries to force through an NHI programme which the economy cannot afford at this time.
Sanigest have been exposed as amateurs and should be shown the door. As always, when dealing with the PLP, the party can't be seen to be losing face. The farce will continue therefore because PGC and his cohorts are incapable of saying "Ok, we got ahead of ourselves and we are going to do the sensible thing and postpone the implementation of NHI until we conduct detailed and professional analysis of the issue". That would be the sensible thing to do but the words "common sense" and "PLP" cannot reside in the same sentence.
The Bahamas has lots of fine, intelligent men and woman who could lead this country. Unfortunately, none of them would dream of entering the Bahamas political arena because it is a disgusting cesspit that harbors only the greedy and the corrupt.
The PLP would like a one party state where no one asks questions and officials are totally unaccountable. Come to think of it, isn't that what we have now?
Moss and his new party have no chance of making an impact in Bahamian politics. Huge question marks hang over anyone who could affiliate themselves with the PLP. Also, his egotistical, prima donna like performance whilst at NIB should put people on alert. Whether you rate Minnis or not, the country's only hope for salvation is an FNM government come May 2017. Sadly, there is no other realistic choice.
From everything I have read in the press and people I have spoken to on the inside of the project, your comments as a "journalist" don't seem at all balanced. I am not suggesting that the BahaMar management team were blameless, far from it, but from everything I have gleaned, the quality of the CCA workmansip on the finishings and installations was dreadful. The governments complicity in the whole affair has been outrageous also therefore why are you aiming your criticism mainly at Izmarilian unless you have an agenda?
