Sincere condolences to the Moncur family for their loss. This shouldn't be happening. Come on Bahamas, we all need to start taking this virus seriously. It is not a hoax, it is very real and people are dying way before their time. Protect yourself AND your neighbour and call out those that are behaving irresponsibly.

"The Bahamas should have about 70 deaths by April 2021, using the current death rate of 1.6%"

We are already at 70 deaths and so I think your model needs some considerable tweaking!

Well written, lol.

With all the wealth registered here in the Bahamas, no one should go hungry and everyone should have easy access to affordable and healthy food. Corrupt politicians who, since independence have been happy to keep the masses uneducated and impoverished, are responsible for the Nation's obesity crisis.

On PM's address 'struck the COVID-9 balance'

Good article. The PM must be grateful that there is no General Election next week otherwise the Bahamian people would do what they always do - punish the government of the day for its ineptitude and breach of promise. This was to be the People's Time, remember that? The FNM has handled this unprecedented crisis badly, in keeping with many governments across the world. The PM and his administration have a relatively short window in which to regain the trust of the populace otherwise they will usher in the return of the most deceitful and corrupt government in the history of The Bahamas.

Honestman says...

It was explained that this complete U turn was based on new data? Sorry, it came across as if the PM has said to Dahl-Regis "Give me new data that will allow me to do a U turn". I heard nothing in that presentation that persuaded me as to the rationale for the about face. On a positive, at least the PM decided, for once, to allow questions from the media even if he did side step the most interesting question.

Appalling decision to incarcerate this young man. Keep prison for the real criminals.

Honestman says...

It is ridiculous for a young man to have been left incarcerated for a week for a curfew violation. How long would he have stayed there had it not been for the intervention? At the very least he should have been given 7 days to pay the fine.

Clamshell,

Actual = 7. Estimate =3.5

Therefore there is a 50% under estimate or you can say the actual was 100% higher than the estimate.

Both statements are correct.
