This is pure madness. What is government trying to do to us? Let people shop once a day Monday to Friday schedule free and keep the 24 hour curfew in place. Things will settle down when shoppers realise there is no need to rush to get their provisions. Have a total lockdown at weekends if necessary. You can see from social media that shoppers are not practicing safe spacing and they are understandably agitated at having to queue for hours on end. A perfect recipe for spreading the virus. Did no one think this through? Utter folly!
Would we not be better just operating to the 24 hour curfew rules during Monday to Friday with a total shutdown every Saturday and Sunday until the threat abates? The Government's ill considered strategy has been a disaster these last two days. How many people will have become infected standing in close proximity to each other for hours outside supermarkets trying to prepare themselves for a five day shutdown? Allow people to shop during the week and most will want to limit their journeys to as few as possible and you will avoid this mad rush which is totally counter-productive.
The Government should stick with the 24 hour curfew but allow persons to visit the grocery store no more than once a day any day of the week. If that happens the panic will be removed and everyone can find a time to shop that suits them. What has been happening today in ludicrous. Those in charge have not been thinking this thing through.
I consider myself a realist and I can't see Baha Mar and Atlantis operating anywhere near full occupancy for the rest of the year. First they have to announce a re-opening date and then they have to persuade American tourists to take a vacation when many will be reeling from the economic hit they will have taken in 2020.
What an idiotic comment. There is nothing in the UK press or media about any such development. What is your motive for uttering such unsubstantiated nonsense?
This FNM administration has proved to be so disappointing. They are no more than the PLP in red jerseys. This party came to power on the promise of being a truly transparent and straight talking government. They are neither. The PM's observation that we are all feeling safer is either delusional or he really thinks the populace is stupid. people do not feel any safer than they did under the plp.
