“When I apply retroactive thinking to it, objectively, I can make the judgement that I have been in politics too long,” Mr Christie said.
The Bahamian people made that judgment a long time ago! There is nothing to debate. Perry Christie and his party have been a disaster for The Bahamas. The PLP's last term in office has set the country back for at least a generation.
The shafting of Sarkis Izmirlian by CCA in collusion with the PLP is one of the the biggest tragedies in the history of independent Bahamas. Every PLP cabinet minister who had anything to do with this scandalous affair should be charged with treason. The price current and future generations will pay over this sorry saga will never be known. I wish Sarkis all the best in his efforts to recover some of his loss. What a dreadful injustice the man has suffered.
There are too many poor people in The Bahamas and not enough people employed by the private sector. Until this ratio changes, a National Health Service can never work. Government needs to create conditions to allow the private sector to expand and then when the real economy is big enough, we will be able to afford NHI. It's not rocket science. Why is the FNM continuing to peddle the idea that we are anywhere near ready to implement NHI?
