We should "begin a total digital transformation of the civil service which would cut the expenditures by over 60%, deliver better services to its citizens, demonstrate fiscal probity."
Totally agree although my feeling is that the percentage saving might be a bit on the high side but hey, you may be right.
Put a stop to nhi now! It is going nowhere and is simply a big unnecessary distraction for the government. The FNM should concentrate on improving what facilities we already have and let private health insurers get on with helping those who can afford cover. NHI was only ever a carrot in a desperate attempt by the PLP to win over those who could not see through the scam.
Introduction of the Death penalty is a tired old chestnut. If the death penalty worked why are there so many murders in Texas? Having a death penalty option might make a desperate populace feel that something is being done but in reality it will make little difference. Let's face it, these young punks don't think ahead when they pull the trigger so why do we think they would think any more because there happens to be capital punishment on the statute? This is all about governments (past and present) being clueless as to how to stop the use of illegal arms in our country. Breaking away from the Privy Council in order to facilitate the introduction of capital punishment would be a very bad move for The Bahamas.
Your first ever sensible comment. You are correct: the people were never in favour of NHI in the form it was being shoved down our throats. The focus should be on preparing the infrastructure and then offering a service that compliments private health insurance instead of decimating it! The PLP used NHI as an election gimmick - everyone knows that, including you.
Is this the only reason you exist Birdiebrain - to spout useless PLP propaganda? Why don't you just wander off into hibernation and let sensible people get on with delivering the country from the mess your incompetent and cheating band of politicians left us with.
How about the insurance industry CEO's get on with their day job and allow the Prime Minister and his cabinet to get on with running the country? Sound reasonable?
