No matter which side of the abortion issue you stand, it should be quite disappointing to see a government minister use a loaded term like ‘murder’ to describe abortion. Particularly given the ministry she oversees. Even the PM was more measured with his response, knowing the rape of a CHILD has brought this debate back into the spotlight. I would suggest he take the leadership reins and caution his colleagues about using right-wing extremist language on highly charged yet sensitive subjects like this one. In other words Minister Rahming, THINK before you speak.
“ Mr Ray, as did many members of the House of Representatives yesterday, is conflating the Government, Securities Commission and joint provisional liquidators into one even though they are separate and operating independently...”
Are you serious? The JPL acquiesced to SCB in the action of ‘safekeeping’ digital assets with the alleged help of SBF. And we know the Commission answers to the Minister, aka Minister of Finance, PM Davis. So yeah, they’re ‘independent’ but we all know ‘not really’.
This is correct. Ray and his team have been very transparent. Meanwhile, we look like we are playing hide the assets, not freely offering information up in a timely manner. Plus the more serious accusation by Ray was that SBF accessed the FDM system after liquidators were appointed and after the bankruptcy filing. Whew, This will bring us bad headlines if we don’t get in front of these revelations that will certainly come out of the US.
The truth is, Bahamians could give a goat’s foot about who the English sit on their rusty thrones. It’s been fun with QE2 but Charles is absolutely unfit to be ‘King,’ so it’s a joke. Best they hide in the background and tread lightly as usual, lest the masses wake up to the mockery that is our so-called ‘constitutional monarchy’ and find the courage Barbados did to finish them off for good.
Great article as always Naughty. We can only pray Grand Bahama gets relief soon. SMT. All these governments have neglected our second city. I cry shame on them all.

One thing I can say, you don’t pull any punches. Yes. This was a very dumb deal. One thing FNMs and PLPs can agree on as Bahamians.
